 Questioning Functionality 2

 September 2 - 30, 2008

Two years ago the Arts Center presented Questioning Functionality, a showcase of furniture and interior design that crossed boundaries with fine, non-functional art. Questioning Functionality 2 will expand into the realms of music, craft, garments and fine art. This juried exhibition will include artwork from whimsical and absurd to downright weird.  Artists include Larry Nelson (see photo above); Jennifer Hibbard, and Mark Perrin.
Local artist Harry Groth creates 3D wall art along musical themes that actually incorporates musical instruments and their parts as conceptual and visual elements. The visual style he works in is reminiscent of cubism a la Georges Brach meets pop art of the '50's and '60's. Jazz fans will definitely have an appreciation for these whimsical works. An opening reception for all artists will be held on first Tuesday, September 2 from 6 to 8 PM.
