PTA Convention heading to Long Beach

112th annual event will bring thousands to convention center

LONG BEACH - The California State PTA's 112th Annual Convention will be held April 28-May 1 in the Long Beach Convention Center. Several thousand PTA members and delegates are expected to attend this major yearly event for the state's largest association working to ensure the well-being of all children and youth.

"Convention is the place where we gather to renew our commitment and passion, celebrate our successes, and make plans to do even more to help all the children of California," said Jo  A.S. Loss, president of the California State PTA.

The convention is the premier training event, and much more, for the association, which has nearly 1 million members throughout the state. In addition to having more than 80 workshops to choose from, attendees will hear inspiring speakers, honor those who have made a real difference in the lives of children, peruse hundreds of exhibitors' displays, and debate and vote on resolutions that will guide the association's work.

The Convention is the place to get up to speed on children's issues in California, from parent involvement, school reform, the state budget's impact, healthy eating and arts education to bullying prevention, driver training and social networking. To learn more about the schedule as you plan your coverage, please review the Convention Registration Book.
