Dear PTA leaders, members and friends,

Your dedication, creativity and ACTION is needed right now.  California has a chance to do something powerfully important this year: achieve a statewide increase in membership.

It is essential that the media, public and state policymakers see that PTAs in California are gaining strength in numbers.  This is especially important given the work we must do to protect education and children's services from deeper budget cuts.  The larger our numbers, the greater our voice. 

Thanks to all of your efforts so far this year, our membership growth goal is within reach.  But we need one more really BIG push, especially this month.  If every PTA leader, friend and supporter in the state takes action to sign up just a few new members, we'll succeed in sending a message that PTA's voice on behalf of children in California is stronger than ever!

When you sign them up, let them know they can receive free legislative updates and action alerts by subscribing at www.capta.org -- so they can start raising their voices and making a difference for children right away.

DID YOU KNOW:  Memberships collected are to be remitted all year long.  March 31 is no longer a final due date. Don't forget to forward (through channels) any memberships you have collected to date so your unit can be recognized on the big screens at convention for meeting the annual challenge of 5 percent growth.
