Parents and students urge legislators to put Governor's budget proposal before the voters

Monday and Tuesday, more than 130 PTA members from throughout the state participated in the California State PTA's annual Legislation Conference.  They interacted with budget and legislative experts and met with legislators and their staff members. PTA's message: Vote to put the proposed tax extension on the June ballot.  For the full list of key messages our members delivered, click here.

PTA weighs in for stronger, more transparent parent empowerment law 

Today's Sacramento Bee featured a guest column by Jo A.S. Loss, California State PTA president, regarding PTA's position on the new parent empowerment law and the controversial "trigger" provision.  To view the column, click here.  The State Board of Education is scheduled to meet today to discuss proposed regulations for the parent trigger.
