Quartet of Arts Workshops To Be Featured at Annual Convention

If you are a "parent for the arts," a PTA arts leader, or just passionate about arts education, choose from among our "Quartet of Arts Workshops" at the California State PTA convention this spring in Sacramento!   Arts leaders from across the state will share their expertise and insights in four dynamic workshops on Friday, April 30, and Saturday, May 1, including the following:

  • Bring Children, Families, and Schools Together Through the Arts (Workshop #317)

  • EveryChild.QualityArts - Join the PTA Arts Network! (Workshop #405)

  • SMARTS: Arts = Achievement for All Students (Workshop #510)

  • Advanced Arts Advocacy Seminar (Workshop #516)

In addition, student Reflections winners will perform and be honored on April 29 and 30, and acclaimed children's author Julianna Baggott (who writes under the name N.E. Bode) will give a keynote presentation on April 30 about the importance of the arts in the lives of all students.

Save the Music

A Battle of the Bands To Support the Arts

DoSomething.org and the VH1 Save The Music Foundation want YOU to lead the fight to keep music education in schools.

Create a video of your garage band, glee club, freestyle efforts, orchestra, or any other musical performance.  In your video, include a testimonial about why music education matters to you.
A panel of expert and celebrity judges will review your videos. Top entries will win great prizes and be presented to members of Congress, urging them to keep music in schools.  Videos must be submitted by April 16.  More information is available.
