The Budget Squeeze
Many California school
districts are facing dire cuts as they plan next year's budget because of the
state's financial situation. Local school
boards will have to make tough decisions, and PTAs have a role to play in

National News
- Language
Academy PTSA, San Diego, earned the PTA Outstanding
Advocacy Award for its initiative at the local level. The PTSA rallied
students, parents and teachers, and the San Diego Unified School District board
voted down proposed cuts to transportation funding for magnet and urban area schools.
- The
2010 National PTA convention will be held in Memphis, June 9-15. For more
