California State PTA unveils new public service announcements
Thirteen PSAs have been developed in partnership with the Pearson Foundation, featuring PTA volunteers as they respond to questions about their schools and the importance of parent involvement. It's just the beginning batch of an ongoing campaign to promote parent and family involvement.
View these PSAs, share them, brag about them, include them with your e-mail signature, and post them on your website and Facebook pages. Use them to promote your PTA and its great work. Click on the image below to watch.

Is it Time for a Convention Resolution?
Is there a burning issue in your school community that needs to be addressed? Can PTA help? If so, consider forming a committee to write a convention resolution. Examples of recent resolutions passed by convention delegates include "Achievement: Eliminating the Gap," "Teen Driving Safety" and "Safe Routes to School for All Children."

PTA Annual Convention 2010, Sacramento It's Not Too Early To Plan
Has your PTA prepared its budget for the year? Have you budgeted for the 2010 convention?
If your budget does not include funds for convention, amend it now to include them! Local unit bylaws state that the president-elect is entitled to attend the California State PTA Annual Convention, but additional delegates may be sent. Begin the conversation now.
One of the purposes of convention is professional development. Skill-building is a priority for all board members. In addition, convention provides attendees the opportunity for advocacy, education, training, and networking on programs that work.
The 2010 Convention will be held in Sacramento this coming year. Start planning now!
