National PTA needs your stories

Dear PTA Leaders:
National PTA needs your help.
National PTA has been invited to testify before Congress on
child nutrition at the end of this month. Written testimony is due this
Tuesday, March 24.
Local examples of PTA efforts and investments to improve
child nutrition is essential for compelling testimony. If you can help, please
email your stories on efforts to promote nutrition within your schools by
10am, Eastern Standard Time, Monday, March 21.
Some examples: Did your PTA work to turn off vending
machines, or improve the nutritional quality of food options; or has your
school used PTA's school wellness policy to set standards for the food sold on
school campus?
Please email your stories to James Vanderhook, Public
Policy Specialist, at jvanderhook@pta.org. And please cc: legislation@capta.org.
If you have questions, feel free to contact Linda Mayo at lmayo@capta.org.
Thank you in advance for your help. This is really a great
opportunity to contribute to our nation's health policies on behalf of
children.
