LEADERSHIP Philadelphia Newsletter                        October 2010
Greetings!

There are certain quotes that you keep hearing and noticing because they hold great truth. Last week I came across one of my favorites:

"People will forget what you said,

People will forget what you did,

But people will never forget how you made them feel."

                                                                                        -Maya Angelou

I keep this quote on my keyboard to remind me to be careful about choosing my words in emails or challenging conversations. People like us, who are in it for the long haul, need to keep our connections warm. When I notice this quote I do a quick internal audit to ask whether I am falling short in some realm:

                Clients                   Staff                      Friends
Board                    Family                    Peers

I generally do well on this, but there's definitely room for improvement. How about you?

                                                                                                                    Fondly,

                                                                                                                    Liz lizDow

P.S. Have we told you lately that getting to know you and watching you evolve is what we like best about this work? Your enthusiasm and accomplishments inspire us.

Saturday November 20, 2010
Rolling Green Golf Club

Coaches vs. Cancer is a collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that engages coaches, teams, and communities nationwide to help save lives and make a real difference in the fight against this disease. Unfortunately too many of us have been affected by this insidious disease.  In the past, Rolling Green has been dedicated to this cause and has responded by raising over $100,000 in previous events.  Our intention is to make Casino Night a premier event while raising money for this important charity featuring silent and live auctions. We take this opportunity to reach out and encourage business leaders, organizations and individuals just wanting to get involved to help out in this lifesaving work.  We are looking for a wide range of valued items or packages, eg.(2 tickets for the Flyers with parking) to be auctioned off that evening.  Can we count you in?For additional information about this event, please contact Bob Yermish at 610-212-9239 or Rolling Green GC, James Lafferty, Club Manager 610-544-4500.  For donations, please forward to Rolling Green Golf Course, attn: James Lafferty, 280 N.
