Malcolm Gladwell speaks to a sell-out crowd at the Union League in February.

Malcolm Gladwell marks beginning of LEADERSHIP Philadelphia's 50th Anniversary!

Thank you for the incredible support of our alumni and friends in making February's visit from Malcolm Gladwell a huge success. Malcolm spoke in front of a sell-out crowd of 540 community leaders at the Union League. In discussing his latest bestseller, Malcolm called on the crowd to think of new ways to capitalize on the underrepresented populations and talent that fill our country. We hope that everyone enjoyed the morning and look forward to seeing you at the next event!

Please see the article in the Inquirer about Malcolm Gladwell.

"I just wanted to send a note of appreciation for the opportunity that Leadership provided me in doing the helicopter ride along with the Philadelphia Police Department.  I had a blast - and what a way to see the city!
For a born and raised Philadelphian who considers a trip to the Jersey Shore and business travel to Chicago as exotic travel, it really meant a lot to me to have that opportunity, and deepen my personal appreciation for what the police department does for the people of Philly!"

Agency Fair 2009

"Your event was quite worthwhile - not only to meet prospective trustees - but also to be able to network with trustees and development/pr types from other non-profits. I think all of us felt the Federal Reserve Bank was a great location. I also thought it was helpful how all your staff made rounds to introduce themselves."

"I wanted to thank you for the work that you and your team did last week to make the day a productive one."

"Thank you for including us in yesterday's Agency Fair. The event was very well run and I really enjoyed meeting the 'students'."

Malcolm Gladwell

"Congratulations on a hugely successful event this morning. The turnout was incredible. The speaker was very inspiring and everyone left with the bestseller book, something tangible
and exciting to devour. I know he is one of a kind, but we must do more of these.
Very impressive job by staff to keep it all so professional and well organized. I am proud to be a small part of this organization.
Thanks!!!"

"I really appreciated being able to hear Malcom Gladwell this morning. He is a terrific thinker and gets my brainwaves moving in different directions - never a bad thing!"

The 2009 Prize honors Laurel Thatcher Ulrich's Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History. "Well-behaved women seldom make history." Today those words appear almost everywhere-on t-shirts, mugs, bumper stickers, plaques, greeting cards, and more. But what do they really mean? In this engrossing volume, Ulrich goes far beyond the slogan she inadvertently created and explores what it means to make history. Well-Behaved Women Seldom Make History celebrates a renaissance in history inspired by amateurs, activists, and professional historians. It is a tribute to history and to those who make it. The event will include the presentation of the Book Prize and remarks by author Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, followed by a book signing and reception.
