When you arrive for your appointment, please let me know that you are here then have a seat in the lobby. It is not necessary to sign-in. Please use the coat rack behind the door instead of the chairs or futon for all bags and belongings.

Natural Roots by Jey

Salon Policies

At Natural Roots by Jey™ clients are highly valued. In order to provide you with premier quality service the following policies have been implemented. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our salon policies. These guiding principles are in full effect without exception so please read carefully to make sure you understand them. Thank you for your business and most of all for selecting the original Natural Roots by Jey™ as your natural hair care service provider!

The salon operates by appointment only. This policy will allow our clients to have a truly welcoming experience. Walk-ins are not accepted. As we expand we hope to offer this service.

When you arrive for your appointment, please let me know that you are here then have a seat in the lobby. It is not necessary to sign in. Please hang all belongings behind the door. 

Please do not use the chairs or the futon to hold your bags and other belongings. Please use the coat rack behind the door.

Hair must be completely free of relaxer and/or texturizer in order to receive service. We know this may be a frustrating process, however it is a necessary step in your journey toward having healthy hair. This policy is fully implemented.

We DO NOT offer service for natural hair with straight ends (due to pressing and flat ironing) unless you are willing to cut the straight ends off completely.

Hair will be  shampooed prior to each service. More clearly stated, hair will be shampooed at NRBJ prior to performing any service. 

Hair must be free of any previous styling, as we do not remove braids, twists, or any other styles. There will be no time for clients to take out their own hair at the shop.

For sanitary and insurance reasons, please refrain from eating in the salon (including the lobby and dryer areas). A break room is provided.

CASH, DEBIT AND CREDIT CARDS are accepted methods of payment. Please have the proper payment at the time of service. Failure to do so will result in prepayment of all future appointments. Please see our menu of services above and feel free to call or email us prior to your appointment for your specific price quote.

Two back-to-back appointments are needed for (Afro) 2-strand twists and roller sets, as they require more time. For example: 10:00 & 10:45.

Please be reminded of our policies for all missed appointments and continue to communicate in advance if you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment. To change or cancel an appointment, please email or text at least 24 hours in advance so that your time may be offered to another client. There is a $15 fee for same day cancellations not made within 24 hours. 

FOR ALL MISSED APPOINTMENTS:  There is a $25 no show fee for missed appointments. After your 1st no call no show appointment a non-refundable deposit of $40 is required to secure future appointments; in addition to the $25 no call/no show fee per appointment ($50 if you have secured 2 slots). Both are payable prior to your next service. Clients who have a no call/no show missed appointment will need to stop by the shop to schedule their next appointment and pay any applicable fees in person. No follow-up appointment for no call/no shows will be accepted via telephone or email. After your SECOND no call/no show we will not schedule with you again.

CORRESPONDENCE:  Clients will receive an email notifying them of a missed appointment or same day cancellation whenever applicable. Until we receive payment for a NO CALL/NO SHOW appointment, your information will be removed from our mailing list and stored in our NO CALL/NO SHOW database to receive an automatic response for future appointment requests. 

VISITORS: Due to specific insurance guidelines, CHILDREN ARE NOT ALLOWED in the salon unless they are receiving service.  Out of respect for each client's privacy, due to limited seating, and insurance liability concerns, please DO NOT BRING VISITORS/GUESTS with you to your appointment.

There is a 15-minute grace period. After that time the owner reserves the option to reschedule the appointment.

Discounts are awarded at the owner's discretion based on unforeseen circumstances.
