Greetings!

Our CASA program has had to overcome many challenges this year, as well. Our staff, board and volunteers have fought serious illnesses in our own health as well as those that we love. We have lost some beloved family members and friends this past year. However, we have overcome these challenges with an even stronger determination to make each moment count in our lives and in the lives of our precious children served by CASA. In fact, resiliency of the children we serve inspires us each and every day!

 As the final days of 2011 come to a close, please join us in our efforts to bring Hope, Peace and a Brighter Future to each child and family we serve.

There are several ways you can help CASA provide a  trained volunteer advocate for children in Collin County that find themselves in foster care during the holidays and for the forseeable future. It costs, on average, $1,781 to provide a CASA Advocate for an abused child for the entire year.

Summer Santas project with Transamerica kicks off United Way Campaign

Chambersville United Methodist Church supplied wish list items for several families and children served by CASA. The collection included toys, bikes and gifts but many necessities such as a stroller for triplets, an ironing board and iron and many other needed items. Relatives taking in foster children often need extra help to cover the expense of caring for children in their extended family.

Chrissy and Matt Erpelding decorate the CASA Christmas tree for the holidays. Children visiting CASA during December loved checking out Santa on front of tree!

 

Two wards from the Church of Jesus Christ of Saint Latter Day Saints donated hundreds of toys and gifts to children served by CASA!

McKinney Christian Academy 7th graders brought handmade fleece blankets for our children.

Minshew Elementary in McKinney collected toys, but also coats and sneakers for our children!

Hayden Sattler and Gianni Pao sort out toys and clothing donated by Great Lakes Academy Students from Plano. Hayden is in Young Men's Service League and learned about CASA through his philanthropic work.

September 26, 2011 golf tournament raises record amount for CASA!

Steve Bell, CASA of Collin County Board Member and 2011 Golf Chair, presents the City of McKinney with the inaugural mayor's cup. McKinney's team included Charles Garza, Travis Ussery and Mayor Brian Loughmiller.

Golfers were greeted with blue skies, a beautiful day and a red carpet as they registered for the tournament. Celebrity Golfers included Burton Gilliam of Blazing Saddles fame and Waddell Smith, former Dallas Cowboy.
