Here at CASA of Collin County we know fall has arrived when we get the opportunity to gather with the 68 other CASA programs for the Texas CASA Conference. We take time to learn more about how we can better serve foster children in Texas. This year, many more volunteer advocates attended the conference. One of the most important things we learned came from Dr. Bruce Perry an expert in the field of child abuse research and treatment. Dr. Perry stated that CASA volunteers are the ONLY person in a foster child's life who is there purely as a compassionate and caring person for that child. Abused children desperately need to share with a trusted, stable adult who is there because they want to be there. CASA volunteers bring hope and trust to children who desperately need to know they are not alone! Thankfully, we can continue to serve every foster child in our county with their own CASA because of the ongoing support of the community. Our children are better off because of you!

CASA Golfers raise record amount for foster kids! Last Monday over 90 golfers and 25 volunteers came out to the CASAs for KIDS Classic Golf Tournament and enjoyed a beautiful fall day and exceptional round of golf to raise a record amount for foster children!
Randy Roland, CASA Board Chair (on left) and Steve Bell, Golf Committee Chair, welcomed golfers to the tournament.
The winning team was Wells Fargo/The Hartford team, followed by Harry LaRosiliere's team from UBS The Kravitz Group. Rounding out the top three was United American Insurance.
Title Sponsor, TRAXXAS, brought several teams of golfers and 4 fast radio control trucks to help bump up the final tally. Mark Carswell, CASA Advisory Board Member (on left) and Jim Gilligan, CASA Golf Committee Member (on right), show off some TRAXXAS Radio Control Trucks that helped raise more money for foster children at the Golf Tournament.
The team from Darling Homes (on right) stops for a quick photo during the tournament. President Bill Darling, second from left, and his company supports many charities in our community, including CASA!
"CASA is able to serve every foster child because of the success of fundraisers such as our golf tournament", shared Randy Roland, Board President of CASA.
"We appreciate the support of our sponsors, golfers and the entire Golf Committee for a very successful and fun event!"
