CASA of Collin County

Susan Etheridge CASA of Collin County Executive Director
Many of you have been following the extensive media coverage of a young Collin County child, affectionately called Wylie's Angel, whose body was found in a remote park in Wylie, allegedly left by his grandmother to die. I am sure you have felt all the same emotions as I- the anger and sadness we all feel when another innocent child is the victim of abuse or murdered at the hands of those who should be protecting them.

In the coming weeks, we will learn more about this young boy and how this could happen in our community. I hope that Gerren Isgrigg's short life might serve a purpose so no other child is left abandoned to die in Collin County or any other community for that matter. We hope your voice will join ours as we Speak Up for children who cannot speak for themselves!

U.S. Census

CASA of Collin County receives a variety of federal, state and local grants to help provide services to 100% of children removed from unsafe homes in Collin County.  Please take the time to fill out the 2010 census questionnaire and return promptly.  Our local community relies on the census count to get our fair share of governmental funds!  Here's some facts you might not have realized:

Funds Allocation and Congressional Apportionment

More than $400 billion in federal funds distributed each year to states and communities based in part on census population data.

435 seats in the U.S. House of Representatives will be apportioned according to the 2010 Census. Article 1, Section 2 of the U.S. Constitution requires a census once a decade.
