More than 165 people gathered for
the Arts Convening.
You can still feel the energy...

Here are the highlights of participant reflections:

"Using stories to show the impact of our programs - how do we do that better?"

"Consider the vision that every child has access to a daily after-school program."

"Over and again I heard that people aren't sure how to connect up with existing resources."

"We should focus on art in neighborhoods and the hidden artists there - put less emphasis on 'high art' and hit the street!"

"Decision makers need to prioritize the arts as they are valuable for community and economic development."

"Education - it's not just for kids anymore.  Re-brand - we're not "the arts" as far as education, we're "creative sciences."

Many ideas were generated.  Many connections were made.  Here are ways you can help strenghten the arts community and keep the momentum going:

1.  Use, update and forward the Arts Tool Kit.  An "Arts Tool Kit" was distributed at the Convening and is available online at www.cfgnh.org/artstoolkit. It has links to information, action steps and ways you can be involved. Send us ideas for links, articles and information to update this resource.

2. Join in the Arts in Education Asset Mapping. If you or your organization provides arts education, click here to help build a local inventory of assets.

3. Go to the Learn & Share page at www.cfgnh.org to read the NEW issue briefs on "Making Music" and "Audience Development."

4. Join the "Arts Convening Group" on www.gnhcommunity.org to exchange ideas and stay in touch with others interested in the arts
