The Halloween parties continue in Oak Lawn this Saturday night as many of the clubs will be holding their costume contests.

CEDAR SPRINGS RENOVATION UPDATE
 Sidewalk renovations and concrete pouring continues on Cedar Springs. After completion in front of the Union Jack store, they will move on down the street repaving in front of the Round Up Saloon next. Weather permitting, the sidewalks should be completed in a couple weeks. After that, then the beautification projects moves on to the trees, light poles and more.

TxDOT is advising residents and visitors to the area about the weekend closure of Woodall Rogers Freeway from 9:30 pm Friday night to 5 am Monday morning. The closure is needed to demolish the Harwood Street Bridge in preparation for the new Arts District Park. This is the last scheduled closure of the freeway at this time.
PRES. OBAMA SIGNS HATE CRIMES BILL
As we reported last week, the Senate passed the Hate Crimes bill, and on Wednesday, President Obama signed the bill into law.

MILLION MUTT MARCH

Million Mutt March & Woofstock at Reverchon Park 3pm-10pm October 30th and 10am-10pm October 31st at Reverchon Park. There will be a 5K Race For The Mutts, 1K Fun Walk, Kids Fun Run, and Woofstock with 13 bands playing to help raise money for 7 animal rescue groups in the area. There will be local vendors on hand on Mutt Midway selling variety of items and the rescues on Rescue Row.

RCD ANNUAL FALL FESTIVAL
Friday, Oct. 30 3:00 - 5:00 pm
Lots of food, costumes, crafts, and prizes!!! Pumpkins designed by RCD employees will be raffled off to the kids in the community. Come join the FUN!!!

TROTS & TREATS
Saturday, Oct. 31 11:00 am - 1:00 pm The West Village Dog Trot & Treat benefitting The Katy Trail. An event geared for our furry friends and the people they own. The West Village Dog Trot & Treat will benefit the Katy Trail.
This year, pooches and their people will parade around West Village picking up treats at various boutiques along the way! The fun's just starting when the Trot & Treat ends, we'll have a post-party featuring a canine costume contest, live music, sips, and nibbles for everyone.

Halloween Night (and on a Saturday night, even). Most all venues in Oak Lawn with feature festivities, with many having their Halloween Costume Contests. Check with your favorite venue.

Every Wednesday Night thru the Summer on the TMC Patio at 7:45 pm. Enjoy give-aways and drinks. Black-Eyed Pea is on hand to take your food orders. The movie on November 4 will be "Camp".

DFW Humane Society 
Shelby is a Domestic Short Hair female that is spayed. She weighs about 7 lbs. and is Tabby in color. She is about 1 year old. Her reason for surrender: Found as a stray. Aren't I adorable? I have been a stray, but like the Shelby Mustang I am a sight to behold. Please come by so we can visit and I can make you my purrson and we can live happily ever after together just you and me.
Cat Adoption fee of $85.00 includes: Spay/Neuter, Leukemia test, FVRCP Vaccination, General deworm, Microchip, Microchip Enrollment, Free Exam at Vet within 10 days of adoption and Temporary carrier to transport.
