OAK LAWN HALLOWEEN
THE BIGGEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR 
Oak Lawn Halloween - Saturday Night (24th)Saturday, Oct. 24
  
It's here! Cedar Springs biggest night of the year. Caven Enterprises presents Oak Lawn Halloween beginning at 8 pm. Make your way down the center walk and show off your costume.
 
During the street party, special guest DJ Maurice Tamraz from Los Angeles spinning in the back lot, along with special appearances by Rose Room performers, and other surprises!
 
Please be aware of parking. Come early and park only in around the neighborhood where parking is allowed. Outside alcoholic beverages are not permitted inside the designated areas.

ARREST IN OAK LAWN ROBBERIES    
 
The Dallas Morning News is reporting that a 39 year old sex offender has been arrested in connection with recent armed robberies in Oak Lawn. Cortnie Estelle is facing charges and is currently being held at the Dallas County Jail.

 
 
WOODALL ROGERS FREEWAY
WEEKEND CLOSURE
 
TxDOT is advising residents and visitors to the area about the weekend closure of Woodall Rogers Freeway from 11 pm Friday night to 5 am Monday morning. The closure is needed to demolish the Harwood Street Bridge in preparation for the new Arts District Park.
 
 
SENATE PASSES HATE CRIMES BILL
 
Thursday, the Senate passed the hate crimes bill which makes it a federal crime to assault an individual based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. The bill is named for Matthew Shepard. President Obama has said he will sign the bill when it arrives to his desk. Full stories online at:

George is very sweet and friendly. He is good with kids and other pets. He is active and playful and is ready for adoption.
