LIFE WALK  
LifeWalk - Sun/. Oct. 10Sunday, Oct. 11
  
LifeWalk is set for Sunday, October 11th, 2009 at Lee Park and is a family- and pet-friendly event benefitting AIDS Arms, Inc. to raise AIDS awareness and funds to help HIV+ men, women and children in North Texas. LifeWalk is a 3.2 mile walk through Dallas' scenic Turtle Creek and Uptown. To date LifeWalk has raised and distributed more than $8 million for AIDS services throughout the Dallas community.
 
The LifeWalk takes place at the Robert E. Lee Park & Arlington Hall Conservancy and is a 5k (3.2 mile) stroll through beautiful Uptown Dallas.

Season Eleven of the OutTakes Dallas Lesbian and Gay Film Festival will be held from October 8-10 at the Inwood Theatre.
 
OUT TAKES Dallas is organized and presented exclusively by The OUT TAKES Dallas Festival Board of Directors and organization. We are especially proud that our festival is organized and managed by a completely volunteer Board of Directors and staff. The Board has a broad range of experience in the business, arts and non-profit worlds. Our Board and Organization is represented by both men and women, and has included Hispanic, African-American, Native American, and Asian-Pacific members.

The Dallas Invitational Columbus Day Tournament (DICDT) invites you to join us for our annual bowling tournament in Irving at the AMF Irving Lanes. Established 27 years ago, DICDT is a philanthropic bowling tournament and fundraising club. DICDT is affiliated with the International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO), and the annual event hosts more than 100 local and international attendees. The DICDT team mobilizes each year to host events which cover the costs associated with producing the annual tournament, including awards and prizes. Additionally, DICDT grants funds to local gay and lesbian service/education programs. This year's beneficiaries are Legal Hospice of Texas and Operation Kindness.

For all the die-hard Oprah fans, this is your chance to see her Live. Oprah will be taping her TV show at 10:00 am Monday Morning on the Chevy Stage at the State Fair of Texas. The taping is free to the public, just the cost of your admission ticket to the fair. It is suggested that you get there early!
 
If you miss it, or if the fair crowds are just too much, you can still catch her when she makes an appearance on the WFAA Channel 8 5:00 pm newcast in Victory Park.

It's the Grand Opening week of the AT&T Performing Arts Center in the Arts District (@ Woodall Rogers Freeway). Enter to win tickets to the entire Inaugural Season. Dedication ceremonies are on Monday, Oct. 12. On Friday, Oct. 16 enjoy a free outdoor jazz concert featuring David Sanborn. Then on Sunday, Oct. 18, it's the Spotlight Sunday free and open to the public. Festivities include tours of the venues and ongoing spotlight performances of jazz and modern dance, ballet, hip-hop, folklorico, ballroom, children's chorus, flamenco, African drum and dance, gospel choirs, chorale, family entertainment and more. In celebration of 50 years of pastoral care at Parkland Health & Hospital System, this concert features the Turtle Creek Chorale, the SMU Meadows Concert Choir and a Partners In Harmony massed ensemble all performing Mozart's magnificent REQUIEM, accompanied by the Richardson Symphony Orchestra and soloists from the University of North Texas. The Partners In Harmony program began six years ago and affirms the belief that every human being is created equal. Today, Partners In Harmony comprises more than forty religious institutions. Mia is very sweet and quiet. She is good with kids and other pets. She would appreciate a quiet home where she can be loved.
         
Cat Adoption fee of $85.00 includes: Spay/Neuter, Leukemia test, FVRCP Vaccination, General deworm, Microchip, Microchip Enrollment, Free Exam at Vet within 10 days of adoption and Temporary carrier to transport.
