Oak Lawn Newsletter - Friday, July 31
Greetings!
THE BRICK REUNION/CLOSING PARTY
After a 17 year run in the present location, The Brick will be closing its doors on Sunday, August 2nd. To commemorate the occasion, promoter Paul Kraft, in conjunction with the Purple Foundation, will host a "Brick Reunion - One Last Tea on Maple" party from 5:00 pm to Midnight. There will be a $10 cover, with proceeds to benefit AIDS Services of Dallas. The event will feature DJ's Blaine Soileau, Paul Kraft, Troy Sands and Mark Brack. Opened in March, 1992 by Howard Okon, The Brick was a well received addition to the intersection of Maple Ave. and Throckmorton St. where the popular nightclub called "The Wave" was greeting large throngs of party-goers. Over the years, The Brick has welcomed various crowds including Leather/Levi, Circuit/Dance and most recently the late-night show and Hip-Hop crowds. The Brick will be re-opening soon in a yet-to-be announced location. Watch the website for location and opening updates. www.brickdallas.com
