HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY WEEKEND
As an expected very hot July Fourth weekend is upon us, we incourage you to be very diligent with any outdoor activities. Drink plenty of water and stay in shaded areas as much as possible.
Spectacular Fireworks shows are planned across the Metroplex at Fair Park, Farmers Branch, Addison, Lake Grapevine, Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie and many more.

FLAGGER WEEKEND 6

Sunday, July 6
Dallas welcomes flaggers, fanners, and poisters from all over the country for a 3-day weekend of connection and growth, July 3-5.
Thanks to the generosity and support of individuals, donors, and local business, this year's Flagger Weekend will be more affordable and have a more intimate focus. Our welcome dinner is Thursday night on July 2. Workshops are all day Friday and Saturday, and we end the weekend on Sunday with a flaggers' tea dance. Evenings will feature group dinners and dance events.
We've added some new courses this year, and have more time than ever before at the dye stations -- 13 hours! Complete information online.

VOICE OF PRIDE CONTINUES  Elimination Rounds
Voice of Pride 2009 sponsored by the Dallas Tavern Guild is now into the Elimination Rounds! The top five finalists win cash prizes and the winner gets $3,000 plus a trip for two to Hawaii courtesy of Delta Airlines and Orbitz Gay Travel. Here are the Elimination Round Dates:

All competitions begin at 9:00 pm.

WEDNESDAY SUMMER MOVIE NIGHT
Beginning July 15 8:00 pm
The Cedar Springs Merchant Association will sponsor a Summer Movie Night every Wednesday Night thru the Summer on the TMC Patio at 8:00 pm beginning Wednesday, July 15. The original start date was scheduled for July 8, but had to be moved forward one week.
Enjoy fabulous movies on the giant outdoor screen located on the TMC patio. There will be prize drawings, popcorn, drinks and tons of merchant specials each Wednesday throughout the summer. Movies start at 8:00 pm but merchant specials start at 6:30 pm. The first movie selection on July 15th will be "Rocky Horror Picture Show"....... Say it, say it !!

MOMMIE QUEEREST Thursdays - Sundays
8:00 pm Uptown Players present "Mommie Queerest" at The Rose Room in S4, starring - Coy Covington, Kevin Moore, Chad Peterson and Paul J. Williams. Written by Jamie Morris. Directed by Andi Allen. Featuring an all-male cast of four, tells the now-famous story of movie star Joan Crawford and her tumultuous relationship with adopted daughter Christina. This hilarious parody of the film classic "Mommie Dearest". The box office and front doors to S4 open at 7pm and priority seating begins at that time. General admission seating begins at 740pm. All seats are general admission however season ticket holders get priority seating between 7 pm and 7:40 pm.

GAYTONA 500
Sunday, July 5
12 Noon - 5:00 pm
The GAYTONA 500 is a one-of-a-kind summer event that combines remote controlled car races, community barbecue, and live entertainment together to raise funds for Youth First Texas. The race itself will be organized into multiple heats. The winners of each heat will compete for the coveted 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place trophies and a chance to be in the Winner's Circle.
Celebrity Chef Blythe Beck, star of the soon-to-air The Naughty Kitchen on Oxygen Network as well as executive chef of Central 214 at the Hotel Palomar is providing food for the event. Chef Blythe will be joined by her film crew to cover our event as part of her new show!
The event will be on July 5, 2009 from 12pm-5pm at the "Youth First Texas Motor Speedway" (the parking lot behind JR's). Please join us and bring your friends!
