First Wednesday on Cedar Springs - July 1This Wednesday evening brings us the July edition of First Wednesday with a 'July 4th' - Red, White and Blue themed celebration on Cedar Springs. Shop the street's merchants for special bargains, wine tasting, hot models and more. Enjoy a refreshing cocktail at one of the neighborhood bars. Or, drop by the Spectrum Motorcycle Riding Club's spot at TMC for Hamburgers and Hot Dogs from the grill on the front patio with proceeds benefiting the Sam Houston Elementary Secret Santa Project. See some of the merchant specials (listed below).
 
Wednesday Summer Movie Night on Cedar Springs begins July 8
SUMMER MOVIE NIGHT
Beginning next Wednesday and continuing every Wednesday evening throughout the Summer, the Cedar Springs Merchants Association will be presenting Wednesday Summer Movie Nights on the TMC Patio. Enjoy fabulous movies on the giant outdoor screen located on the TMC patio. There will be prize drawings, popcorn, drinks and tons of merchant specials each Wednesday throughout the summer. Movies start at 8:00 pm but merchant specials start at 6:30 pm. The first Movie (July 8th) will be "Rocky Horror Picture Show." VOICE OF PRIDE CONTINUES DTG's Voice of Pride continues
Thru June 

Voice of Pride 2009 sponsored by the Dallas Tavern Guild is under way! The top five finalists win cash prizes and the winner gets $3,000 plus a trip for two to Hawaii courtesy of Delta Airlines and Orbitz Gay Travel.

RASH OF CAR BREAK-INS IN UPTOWN
SUSPECTS CAPTURED 
   
CBS 11 TV is reporting that Uptown residents in the area of Cole Avenue, Blackburn Street and Travis Streest have been dealing with a rash of car break-ins during this past week.
 
 
In today's DallasNews.com, it is reported that four men arrested this week are responsible for the burglarties.

Uptown Players present "Mommie Queerest" at The Rose Room in S4, starring - Coy Covington, Kevin Moore, Chad Peterson and Paul J. Williams. Written by Jamie Morris. Directed by Andi Allen. Featuring an all-male cast of four, tells the now-famous story of movie star Joan Crawford and her tumultuous relationship with adopted daughter Christina. This hilarious parody of the film classic "Mommie Dearest". The box office and front doors to S4 open at 7pm and priority seating begins at that time. General admission seating begins at 740pm. All seats are general admission however season ticket holders get priority seating between 7 pm and 7:40 pm.

Take the Test. Take Control. National Testing Day is Friday, June 26. Nelson-Tebedo Health Resource Center at 4012 Cedar Springs Road will be offering FREE testing for 12 hours (9a-9p). Rapid HIV testing, with results available within an hour, will be offered from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Frodo is a Male Chihuahua that is neutered. He weighs about 12 lbs. and is Black and White. He is about 6 years old. His reason for surrender: Moving and can't take him.
   
Frodo is very sweet and friendly. He is housebroken, good with kids and other pets. He is ready to find a new great home.
