First Day of Spring!
CEDAR SPRINGS BEAUTIFICATION BENEFIT AND GALA
The Cedar Springs Merchant Association is holding a benefit Gala and Auction at the Round Up Saloon to raise money for helping to finance the beautification project along Cedar Springs Road. The City of Dallas will be matching all money raised for the project which includes lighted entry arches near the Melrose Hotel and on the other end at the Library, enhanced street lighting, banner poles, park benches, new cobblestone siedwalks and palm trees. This is the first event with many to come. During the evening, the 3D Architectural rendering of "The Strip on Cedar Springs" will be unveiled.
The Gala begins with a catered reception and preview party for VIPs from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. The live auction will be held from 6:30 - 9:30 pm. A ticketed Silent Auction will also be featured along with an underwear fashion show and good food, great drinks, exciting auction items, and wonderful entertainment. . Reserved table seating for 4 is available at $100 per table which includes table service from the underwear models, a bottle of Champagne, entry to the VIP preview and reception, and a VIP gift. BLACK TIE DINNER ONLINE AUCTION MEXICO CRUISE - APRIL 18-25
Experience the best of Mexico's Pacific coast onboard the spectacular 2200 guest Norwegian Star sailing from Los Angeles, CA. This cruise has been graciously donated by Concierge Travel and RSVP Vacations.
Bidding begins via email on March 18 at 8:00 am and closes March 25 at noon. Starting bid is $500. Visit blacktie.org to place bids and follow the bidding; highest bids will be posted (without identifying the bidders) several times daily on the site. Only email bids will be accepted.
Winner will be determined based upon highest bid received no later than noon on Wednesday March 25, 2009. For questions, contact jsherman@blacktie.org . TEXAS BEAR ROUND-UP

Texas Bear Round-Up (TBRU) is an amazing and fun event that is organized and planned by the Dallas Bears. The host hotel for this year's evnet is the Crowne Plaza.
The Dallas Bears is a Social and Service Organization serving the Greater Dallas area. Our diverse members and friends volunteer each year to produce TBRU. This is our 14th TBRU and we hope you will join us March 19-22, 2009 for a great event.

GAY BINGO

Gaybingo is every third Saturday (except April and December) in The Rose Room at S4, 3911 Cedar Springs, Dallas 75219 -- in the heart of Oak Lawn. Doors open at 5PM. Games start at 6PM. Pre-sold tickets get first entry when the doors open.

THROUGH THE EYES OF OUR CHILDREN

Oak Lawn Library Friends and Preservation Link, Inc. present an exhibit on display at the Oak Lawn Library beginning March 21. "Through the Eyes of Our Children" allows us to view photographs made by students from DISD's Area 2, including students from Charles Rice Learning Center, Joseph J Rhoads Learning Center, H S Thompson Learning Center, Pearl C Anderson Middle Learning Center, and Lincoln High School.
Embarking on personal journeys of discovery, these students use photography to convey their perceptions and ideas about the neighborhood, and the broader community, in which they live.

CEDAR SPRINGS ART FEST

THE CEDAR SPRINGS MERCHANTS ASSOCIATION proudly presents the first annual CSMA Art Fest in 2009. As part of a community outreach to local artists and beautification efforts, we proudly welcome you to be part of this creative event. Our goal is to feature up to 200 artists who will exhibit, sell and take orders on their original works in a multitude of mediums. Only original materials, limited editions non commercial non imported materials are permitted. Other mediums subject to approval.

THE WOMEN'S CHORUS OF DALLAS PRESENTS "NOMINATION"

Our annual pops concert will be filled with audience nominated favorites including Sister Act Medley, Wicked Medley and Let the River Run. The second half of the concert will feature the world premier of a newly commissioned work, Music in You. The work, with Lyrics by Pamela Tomlinson and Music by Joseph Martin, features seven songs based on diversity themes.

HRC 2009 FAIRWAY TO EQUALITY
GOLF TOURNAMENT Sunday, June 7 12:00 Noon
Mark your calendars and join us for the best women's golf event in Dallas! The Humane Rights Campaign presents the 2009 Fairway to Equality Golf Tournament on Sunday, June 7 with a shotgun start at Noon. The event will be held at Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Rockwall. Early bird registration is $100 per player until May 22, so sign up soon! Individual registrations after May 22 are $125. There are also many sponsorship opportunities, from tee signs to naming rights.

Pet of the Week
DFW
Humane Society Bam Bam is a Pomeranian male that had his neutering scheduled for the 18th, and will be ready to go home. He is about 2-3 years old weighing in at 15 lbs. His color is blonde and reason for surrender: Found as a stray. Bam Bam is very sweet and active. He is good with kids but prefers a home without other pets. He will be ready for adoption after his neuter on March 18th. If you can adopt Bam Bam and give him a good home, please contact the DFW Humane Society at 972-253-3333, or check out one of the many other pets that need a home by visiting their web site.
