FIRST WEDNESDAY ON CEDAR SPRINGS

It's time again for another wonderful evening on the strip. This month, the merchants will be decked out in a Spring/Shamrock theme. Collect shamrocks for a chance to win the prize basket. Enjoy the enterainment from the Voice of Pride preview. Check out all the deals, goodies and 'eye-candy' from all the merchants. As a great added attraction, there will be an open art show and reception from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at Buli's Cafe. "Monroe the Diva" is a study of several artists with every painting either of Marilyn Monroe or influenced by Marily Monroe. The Artist on board are Photographers Erica Felicella and Richard Bettinger, Embelishemnt artist Julie Wishmeyer from Chicago, and painters...Craig Schumacher, Ed Hall from Dallas Texas. Plus, Bianca Lopez from Jacksonville Florida and Grafitti artist C.kirk of Dallas Texas. MTV Series Casting Call
MTV News & Documentaries in New York is currently researching a new round of episodes for MTV's long-running series, True Life, and has sent out this casting call notice:
True Life: I'm Gay For Pay
Are you a straight person engaging in sexual activity with same-sex partners, in exchange for money, despite the fact that you're heterosexual? Are you currently employed in the sex industry, working in gay porn or as an escort catering to same-sex clients? Perhaps you're a college student simply looking to earn some extra cash on the side. Are you enjoying yourself in spite of your true sexual orientation? Or did you get involved in this line of work out of necessity? Do your friends and family know what you do or are you living with a secret that you fear could be exposed at any moment? If you're lining your pockets by pretending to be gay for a living, MTV wants to hear from you. COWTOWN RODEO - FT. WORTH
Feb. 27 - Mar. 01 TGRA
The Texas Gay Rodeo Association is pleased to announce Cowtown Rodeo 2009 - a weekend filled with exciting rode performances, entertainment, great music, and dancing. The weekend begins 9:00 PM Friday night, February27 at Best Friends Club with a Welcome Back to Cowtown Rodeo show hosted by TGRA state royalty.
On Saturday the excitement moves to the W.R. Watt Arena, part of the Will Rogers Exposition where over 150 contestants from around the country compete in 13 rodeo events. Contestants prizes along with championship buckles. The rodeo events start at 8:30 AM in the main arena.
Sunday continues with more rodeo events following the same schedule, including Grand Entry, the "Cowtown Rodeo Market", and entertainment. The weekend concludes with an award ceremony starting at 8:00 PM in the W.R. Watt Arena's Centennial Room. Ticket prices for the rodeo performances on Saturday and Sunday is $15.00 per day.

South Plains Leatherfest-International Master/slave Weekend. This year, South Plains celebrates its 10th Anniversary - so you know that means it will be the best South Plains yet! In March, the Cedar Springs Merchants have added another affair that you will certainly want to attend. The Cedar Springs Beautification Benefit & Gala will be held on Friday, March 20th beginning at 5:00 pm at the Round-Up Saloon. It will include a live and silent auction for fabulous merchandise, trips, meals, wine and much more. Plus, a live model underwear auction during the event. VIP table reservations are available. United Community Against Gay Hate will be hosting a booth on the First Wednesday in March with the Northwest Division Police Dept. along with other city and community leaders to re-introduce the Northwest Division police Dept. in the community to help rebuild the relationship with business owners, residents and patrons who want to acclimate themselves in the community. This is one step we are taking to make it safer when we all come here to entertain, shop, and eat. TOAST TO LIFE PREVIEW PARTY

Join us for the Toast To Life Preview Party on Thursday beginning at 7:00 pm with the Gala at 8:00 pm. The event will be held at Studio 1019, 2278 Monitor St. in Dallas. Save The Date, the TTL Gala is scheduled for April 18th this year, which showcases delicacies presented by Dallas' most exclusive restaurants.

AIN - BLOOMIN' BALL

Austin based singer, songwriter, activist, and philanthropist Sara Hickman will be the featured entertainer at AIDS Interfaith Network's annual fundraiser, the Bloomin' Ball...'sowing seeds of hope'.
Hosted by the Westin Park Central Hotel, the VIP reception and silent auction preview begins at 6:00 pm Saturday, April 25, 2009. The Bloomin' Ball opens at 7:00 pm, with the seated dinner and featured entertainment beginning at 8:00 pm. Proceeds from the event benefit the programs of AIDS Interfaith Network (AIN), which support more than 1,700 men, women, children and youth who are living with HIV/AIDS, and make over 20,000 contacts with people who are at-risk of HIV infection to provide life-saving HIV prevention education.
Sponsorship packages are available at the $1,000, $1,750, $2,500, and $5,000 levels, which include a table of 8, and the $10,000 level, which includes 2 tables of 8. Table packages at $800 are also available. Individual tickets are $100 for VIP seating and $75 for premiere seating. Seating is limited at all price levels. Humane Society Basher is a Domestic Short Hair male that is not neutered. He is about 6 months old weighing in at 5 lbs. His color is black and reason for surrender: rescued from aonther shelter Basher is extremely sweet and affectionate.
