NATIONAL FREEDOM TO MARRY DAY
In honor of Valentine's weekend, gay rights groups across the country observed National Freedom to Marry Day. A local couple had a marriage ceremony in downtown Dallas at the Records Building yesterday afternoon.

Local reports are the flu is expected to spike around the Metroplex in two weeks.

TEDDY BEAR AUCTION
Saturday, Feb. 14 6:00 - 8:00 pm
The Round Up Saloon and the Dallas Bears presents the Charity Teddy Bear Auction on Saturday, Feb. 14th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Decorated and Unique Teddy Bears donated by Community Vendors, Clubs and Organizations will be auctioned off to the highest bidders to raise money for the TBRU 14 beneficiaries which include Youth First Texas, AIDS Interfaith Network and AIDS Services of Texas. 2009 MISS PEKERS CONTEST DONNA MILLER BENEFIT

Please join Frank and Ron and the Pekers team for "2009 Miss Pekers Contest" hosted by Mackenzie Storm on February 15th at 8:00pm to raise funds that will help Donna to meet her living and medical expenses during her recovery. Donna Miller has been active in the LGBT community in Dallas for over 13 years, and has directly worked in HIV/AIDS through AIDS Interfaith Network (AIN) for over 7 years of that time. For the past 2 years she has been cooking and serving clients in the meals program of the Daire Center at AIN. Although Donna will be receiving some disability benefits through AIN, they will not be enough to offset her living expenses and rising medical costs-Donna needs our help. Humane Society Shadow is a Domestic Short Hair female that is not spayed. She is about 1-2 years old weighing in at 7 lbs. Her color is blue and reason for surrender: found as a stray. Shadow is very sweet and friendly. She is lovable and easy going.
