HALLOWEEN STREET PARTY Saturday Night, Oct. 25
 This year's Halloween Street Party is entitled "Fairytales." Brought to you by the good folks at the Caven family of clubs, the festivities will center around the 3900 block of Cedar Springs Road beginning at 7:00 pm. "Bigger and Better for '08 with Live Entertainment in the back lot, plus other surprises." In accordance with local and state laws, no personal liquor may be brought in to the event area. EARLY VOTING CONTINUES
Early voting continues thru October 31. Don't wait! Get out to an early polling location and cast your ballot for this "so important" election. The two closest locations to Oak Lawn are the Grauwyler Park Recreation Center at 7780 Harry Hines Blvd, or the Dallas County Records Building downtown at 509 Main St.

The Soulforce Q EQUALITY RIDE

For two months, 17 young adults are traveling by bus to various colleges and universities where lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) students are experiencing discrimination. Through direct dialogue and nonviolent action, we aim to address the intersection at which faith, gender, and sexuality collide. Come learn more and show your support!

KATY TRAIL DAYS

OCTOBER 25-26 Bands, Clowns, Jugglers, Face Painting, Chalk Artists. At the core of Katy Trail Days is six hours of non-stop entertainment on the Katy Trail each day of both weekends. Located at various places up and down the Trail, all entertainment is free for the more than 6,000 people who use the Katy Trail every weekend.
CHALK ART COMPETITION 10 A.M.-4 P.M. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25 Area students create works of art featuring Katy Trail Days themes on the Trail's 12-foot-wide concrete main path for all to see. The young artists compete for prizes from area restaurants and retailers. Winners are chosen by voting from the public on the Friends of the Katy Trail's website, www.KatyTrailDallas.org.
PUMPKIN PARTY 3-5 P.M. SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26 Children and families will fill Reverchon Park near the south end of the Katy Trail for an outdoor Pumpkin Festival, where pumpkins can be purchased, designed, carved and decorated all in one spot. GET-OUT-THE-VOTE RALLY

Stonewall Democrats of Dallas sponsors a "Get-Out-The-Vote" rally at Woody's Sports Bar, 4011 Cedar Springs Rd. on Sunday from 1:00 - 6:00 pm. The free event will feature the Dallas County Democratic Party Chairwoman Darlene Ewing and 2008 Candidates. Get free rides to the polls, free hot dogs and hamburgers.

"FRIGHT FLICK" SCREENING

Indie filmmaker Israel Luna will screen his latest full-length horror movie "Fright Flick" at a special event held at Magnolia Theatre Wednesday at 7:30pm. Luna will donate 25% of all event proceeds to Resource Center of Dallas in celebration of its 25th Anniversary. Tickets are $15 for this spirited event - and a $10 discounted ticket is available for attendees who arrive in costume. Tickets are available for advanced purchase (highly recommended) at online or at the door the night of the event.

FIRST WEDNESDAY ON CEDAR SPRINGS

Wednesday evening, Nov. 5 will bring us another edition of First Wednesday on Cedar Springs from 6:00 to 9:00 pm. This month's theme: "Autumn Fling of the Springs". Drop by the tent outside Buli Cafe, spin the prize wheel for a chance to win cash, great food and fabulous prizes. Shop all the merchants on the street for great bargains and specials. Many of the local retailers will also have wine tasting events and other special perks. There will be tons of Sales, specials and give aways.

The Women's Chorus of Dallas will host Gifts & Glitter Gala "Platinum Pair O'Dice" at the Addison Conference Centre and will feature a silent auction, big board auction, casino gaming fun, live performance by The Women's Chorus of Dallas, great food and cash bar.

Echo is a male Hound mix and is not neutered. He is about 3 - 4 months old and 18 lbs. right now... still growing. He is tri-colored and this adorable companion was abandoned. Echo is very sweet and playful. He is good with kids and other pets.
