Unclaimed Money at the State

Do you think there may be some unclaimed money just waiting for you to claim?

State law requires the Texas Comptroller's office to hold abandoned and unclaimed property reported by businesses and financial institutions until its owners or their legal heirs claim it. The agency attempts to find the rightful owners of unclaimed properties through annual newspaper advertising, direct mail notices and the agency's Web site.

"We've been hearing from our TMC guests for months now that they wanted TMC to come back.  We really appreciate the loyalty that we've been hearing, and we're excited about creating this new version of an old favorite", said Gregg Kilhoffer, President of Caven Enterprises. The Mining Company will open at the former location of Sue Ellen's, which was relocated to TMC's old location after its closing last January.  Kilhoffer continued, "The new location is smaller, like the original Mining Company.  It's a new experience, but with a familiar feel.   In fact, there are some structural elements that came from the original TMC.  I think our TMC loyalists will like it."

CRIME WATCH
Oak Lawn / Cedar Springs Crime Watch
The Oak Lawn Cedar Springs Crime Watch is a group of concerned residents and business owners who meet with officers from Central and Northwest Dallas Police divisions to discuss neighborhood issues. The officers provide up-to-date crime statistics and inform us of developing trends and individual incidents occurring in our area. We meet at noon on the third Wednesday of each month at the Oak Lawn branch of the Dallas Library. Our meetings are open to everyone and are regularly attended by members of other city departments in addition to the police. Our meeting lasts for one hour, but attendees are encouraged to remain to discuss individual issues with city staff afterwards. We usually have lunch provided by a sponsor and a guest speaker to address issues identified by group members. Our group is Co-sponsored by the Oak Lawn Library.

You can find out all about Dallas Crime Watch at their new website. Just click "Crime Watch" on the left, then navigate to the Oak Lawn/Cedar Springs Crime Watch.
