Voice of Prize Select Winners   
2008 Voice of Pride Winners
The 2008 Voice of Pride Competition was coordinated by the Dallas Tavern Guild and consisted of several preliminary contests leading up to the finals which were held Sunday night at The Rose Room. After some fabulous performances and stringent competition, the winners were announced (pictured above, from left to right) Christine Pradia, Juliana Jeffrey, Juan DeLeon (winner), Mel Arizpe and Walter Cunningham. Over $5000 in Cash prizes were awarded to the winners as well as a round trip for 2 on Delta Airlines to Juan DeLeon. The top winners will perform again at the Festival in Lee Park on Parade Day - Sunday, Sept. 21.

If you drive down Cedar Springs and have asked yoursel "what's being built across from Kroger?", well today the Ilume has displayed an artist rendering of the multi-use project. No other details are available on the web site as of now, but you can check out the project for yourself. It looks like Cedar Springs is moving on up!

The Women's Chorus of Dallas will hold open rehearsals for women interested in joining the Chorus. Interested singers are invited to sit in on a rehearsal, meet with the other members of The Women's Chorus of Dallas and learn more about becoming a member.  Interested guests are invited to audition on their second visit to the open rehearsals.
 
The Women's Chorus of Dallas offers women an opportunity sing the classical choral repertoire as well as popular music and other genres.  Prior experience or the ability to read music is not a requirement for membership. 
 
Current openings are available for both chorus members and soloists.  Regular season rehearsals are held every Monday from 7PM - 10PM at Sammons Center for the Arts.  Members are expected to attend every rehearsal.

Dixie is a spayed Female Domestic Long Hair about 1 1/2 yrs. old weighing in at about 5 lbs. She is a Dilute Calico and was found as a stray.
 
"OK Loyal Southerners, I am the cat for you. I am a year and a half year old Dilute Calico with the most beautiful markings. I am a quiet Southern Belle who likes to be on my own; however I will get on your lap when I am ready for some loving. I get along with other cats. Please come see me and take me home to a place where I can blossom into the beautiful, loving Southern Belle I was meant to be."
