Oak Lawn Newsletter - Friday, June 13
Greetings!
The fear of Friday the 13th (known as paraskevidekatriaphobia) can't exactly be explained by scientific logic. In fact, most of the people who believe the day is unlucky offer no explanation at all. It could arise from several things: religious beliefs, the "unluckiness" of the number 13 itself, the distrust of Fridays, the fact that there are 13 months in a Pagan calendar or many other reasons.
Whatever the day brings, we hope yours turns out to be a good one. Why not head out to your favorite Oak Lawn watering hole and have a "toast" to good 'ole Friday the 13th.
Don't forget... SUNDAY IS FATHER'S DAY !
If you have a community event or interested news item, please email us all the info to include in future newsletters.
