First Wednesday on Cedar Springs... Happens again this Wednesday evening !
What better way to spend a warm (almost) summer evening, than strolling down Cedar Springs Road with your friends at the monthly First Wednesday. It's coming up again this Wednesday night from 6-9 pm. This month, a great new twist has been added... the 50/50/50 Art Show and Sale. More details are listed below.

Lone Star Ride
Kick Off Party Sunday, June 1
Even though the 2008 Lone Star Ride Fighting AIDS is three months away, the Dallas Kick Off Party will take place next Sunday at Salum Restaurant (4152 Cole Ave.). The event is 2:00 - 5:00 pm and musical entertainment will be provided by 'Lovie'. The Ride is scheduled for September 27-28 and benefits AIDS Outreach Center Tarrant County, AIDS Services of Dallas and Resource Center od Dallas. 50/50/50 Art Sale
It that time of the month again.... the next 'First Wednesday on Cedar Springs' sponsored by the Cedar Springs Merchant Association. The sales and special offerings pour out into the street for this monthly event. Included in the June affair will be "The 50/50/50 Event" sponsored by Buli Cafe. 50 Artists donating 50 Paintings and all for $50 each. Plan to arrive early as all the art is expected to sell out that night!

Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund

This is the 3rd year of MetroBall and is the primary fundraising event of GDMAF. Monies raised goes to support five North Texas HIV/AIDS agencies by providing monies for emergency needs. GDMAF will assist over 150 people and distribute over $50,000 in 2008. The event will include the aerial artistry of Neal Everett along with DJ "Frankie Ice".
Tickets: $20 advance, $25 door, available online and at Skivvies on Cedar Springs. VIP packages are available with exclusive access to private VIP room, reserved parking and light appetizers proved by Hector's on Henderson. Raffle Tickets are also available for $5 each or 3 for $10 with a chance to win a 37" HDTV Flatscreen TV.

MAYOR'S SUMMER READING PROGRAM - READERS ARE LEADERS Saturday, May 31 - Saturday, Aug. 9 All children may enroll, including those who read by themselves or those who participate by listening. Register and report to only one Dallas Public Library location. Record time spent reading or listening on the reading log provided at sign-up. Return reading log to the library where you registered so that hours may be recorded and prizes awarded. Readers may choose any reading material, such as books, magazines, audio books, etc. It is the time spent reading or listening that is important, not the number of titles read.
LEADERSHIP LAMBDA TOASTMASTERS Mondays (except May 26), 6 p.m. Participants learn the skills necessary to become an effective speaker.
