Dear Doctor,

This newsletter highlights some of our well characterized antibodies for use in Stem Cell research. Research into Stem cell therapy promises to dramatically change the treatment of many human diseases including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, cardiac disease and rheumatoid arthritis.

Biosensis has a wide range of quality antibodies to support researchers working in other important areas such as cancer, apoptosis, autophagy, diabetes & obesity.

M-990-100Mouse antibody to PCNA [IML-83]

Immunohistochemical staining of paraffin-embedded HELA cell sections using Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen (M-990-100). This antibody reacts with human, mouse and rat and has been successfully used in Western Blotting and immunohistochemistry applications.

anti-TH IgGRabbit antibody to Tyrosine Hydroxylase

Immunohistochemical staining of catecholaminergic neurons in the rat brain stem. This is a superb antibody for the detection of tyrosine hydroxylase (R-118-100) containing neurons exhibiting an intense labeling with a negligible background. A synthetic peptide (PRFIGRRQSLIEDARK) corresponding to part of human Tyrosine Hydroxylase (63-78) has been used as the immunogen.
Mo-933-50Mouse antibody to Notch 2

Western blot detection of GST tagged recombinant human Notch 2 (Mo-933-50). Note the GST tag alone is 26 kDa. This antibody reacts with human Notch 2 and has been used in Western Blotting and ELISA.

MLR-2 MesenteryMouse antibody to p75NTR [MLR2] - ATTO 488

Immunofluorescence staining of p75NTR [MLR2] (M-028-50-AT) uptake into mesenteric nerves following in vivo administration in adult rat. MLR2 has been used in WB with native p75NTR, immunohistochemistry,  immunofluorescence, FACS, Anti-NGF receptor p75 dynamics, retrograde transport studies and the study of intracellular trafficking (see Matusica et al 2008).

M-846-100Mouse antibody to Musashi 1 [3G1]

Western blot of Musashi 1 (M-846-100) expression in human neuroblastoma cell lysate. This antibody reacts with human, mouse and rat Musashi 1 and is recommended for Western Blotting, immunohistochemistry, sandwich ELISA and immunofluorescence.

  7. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis
Question of the month

Question: Can I use MLR2 to detect p75NTR in mouse?

Answer: MLR2 is a unique monoclonal antibody that reacts with the p75 receptor in  a wide range of species.

MLR2 was developed in p75NTR knock-out mice and is the only monoclonal antibody available that recognizes the mouse
form of the receptor.

MLR2 has also been used extensively in studies with tissues and cells from human, rat, rabbit and guinea-pig (see Rogers et al 2006
).

Our staff have over 60 years experience in the manufacture and use of antibodies, having published over 340 peer reviewed research publications. So, if you have a query on any of our antibodies, please contact us at biospeak@biosensis.com.

Sincerely,
Tina
