Greetings!

Beth and I just wrapped up a whirlwind trip to partnering churches in Arizona that we were not able to visit last year. Already we are plagued with thoughts of people we had wanted to visit, but couldn't because of time constraints.

We are told the two most common reasons missionaries leave the field are because of the needs of their children and their parents. As Eric's parents prepare for the Lord's return, they are also taking steps to be ready for the possibility that he might receive them individually first. During the past couple of weeks, Arizona partners of our ministry have been helping us learn how to help our parents live independent lives as long as possible. As we get ready to leave for Ukraine, it will be a comfort to know that our parents are able to care for themselves and are prepared for the unexpected.  We want to say "Thank You!" to everyone that took time to give us counsel, resources, time and expertise.

We have two weeks left of this brief visit to see a few doctors, contact our California partnering churches to reschedule a visit with them and to make preparations for our return to Ukraine on April 15. Of course, the big event will be celebrating Charity's 21st Birthday on the 14th.  With your prayers, we'll get done what needs to get done. So once again... Thanks for Praying!

Prayer & Praise List

Prayer Needed:
  • For success in accomplishing everything that needs to be done before returning to Ukraine.
  • For discovery of financial support (currently we are down about 10% overall) and for the spiritual and financial health of all our partnering churches.
  • For success in finishing the documentation process for the church on the shelter.
  • For safety as we travel. As of this writing, we are about to travel across highway 40 from Flagstaff to Knoxville by car.
  • For God's provision of resources to finish the church on the shelter project.
  • For Yura, our church planter's preparation to move to Donetsk to partner with us in the ministry of church planting.
Praise Offered:
  • For great visits with great churches and individual ministry partners in Arizona.
  • For knowledge and skills gained that will help Eric and his siblings care for his parents in their sunset years.
  • For a great visit with our daughter during her spring break and the ability to show her the splendor of God's creation in Sedona and the Grand Canyon.
  • For God's grace in giving us really wonderful church partners in the states and in Ukraine..
Online Giving
Give Wisely:   Recently, a man sitting on a sidewalk in downtown Phoenix asked me for food. Looking at his arms I could tell where he spent his money. I stepped inside a restaurant and bought the man some soup and gave it to him in Jesus name calling him to repentance and faith in Christ. Later I saw two girls give this same man a few dollars. Catching my eye, one of the two girls said, "We just leave it to Jesus."  Unfortunately, these two well-intentioned people had just given a drug addict money toward his next fix.  Giving unwisely can cause great harm on many levels. Giving wisely takes time, skill and energy. So take the time to do it right, or give your offerings to support people who will.
