Greetings!

The year is ending soon and Christmas is upon us.  Yesterday we had our December church service at the church on the shelter (once a month - third Sunday) with 17 in attendance.  Attendance is by invitation only at this point and our goal is to create a family atmosphere in which people enjoy the love and warmth of the believers in their midst.

This is the second service and so far we have been successful in keeping the services short (by Ukrainian standards) and by having a great time of fellowship with chai and sweets following the service.

Beth and I have also been evaluating our plans for the near future and we will probably be cutting in half the amount of time we had previously planned for our upcoming trip to visit churches in the states. This is a crucial time in the life of the ministry, and we feel it would be premature to leave Ukraine at this point in time. We will need to reschedule our February appointments, but we'll keep our March schedule intact.

We ask you to pray more for the ministry until mid-February of 2011 as we work through a critical stage of the ministry. Prayer & Praise requests are shown below, and as always... thank you for praying!

Our Christmas Wish List

Prayer Needed:
  • Our next service will be on January 16th. Please pray the Lord would lead us to those who are open to the Gospel and for everyone who comes to be touched by the Spirit of God.
  • WorldVenture will be holding a conference for its staff in Europe and the Middle East beginning on December 28. Pray for travel safety and for a great time of learning for the Yodis family and many other missionaries who will be attending.

  • Plans are underway for a church planting training event in January (12-14). Pray that God would give us wisdom in the planning process.
  • For personnel and resources necessary to finish the church on the shelter before winter and also for supernatural success in completing the documentation process.

Praise Offered:
  • God has given us two great church services and helped us continue to establish new relationships in the community and to strengthen previously established relationships.

  • Eric has recovered from bronchitis and laryngitis that plagued him for almost the entire month of October and part of November.
  • For God's grace in giving us really wonderful church partners in the states and in Ukraine.
  • A meeting of the board of the Mission Society "Spiritual Renewal of the Donbas" was fruitful and unified consensus was reached by all members present. The reins of the Mission were handed to a faithful servant of the Lord, Miroslav, who will undertake its reorganization and restructuring with Ukrainian national leadership. Eric is leaving the board and will focus his energies almost entirely on the province of Donetsk.
  • Charity has successfully navigated her travels to Donetsk and we will enjoy Christmas together again.

Online Giving
Give Prodigally:   To give prodigally is to give lavishly, freely, extravagantly and maybe even recklessly. God gave prodigally when He sent His Son to earth so that we can have new life.  This Christmas season let's think about how we can be giving prodigally to help spread the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth.
