Greetings!

Last month we informed you that our training session was postponed due to the previous food poisoning problem and how we were seeking a new time and venue for the next session. That new session begins today and ends Friday evening. Thank you for praying!

Beth and I have been busy with the church on the shelter ministry which has begun Sunday morning meetings on the bus stop in front of the construction site. Last Sunday one of the men from the neighborhood I had invited came and stood across the street to listen.  He and is wife had remarked about how they enjoy listening to us on Sunday mornings. Our service begins at 8 a.m. and lasts only 40 minutes, but is a great time of blessing with mixed reaction from the neighborhood.  There are about ten of us each Sunday, but we are hoping more men will come and that some will even cross the street.

Last week we hosted a team from a Ukrainian church which came to help us pour the second floor. So we are seeing progress happen both spiritually and in the construction at this strategic church plant.  Thanks be to God.
Prayer - Praise
Church Planter Roma teaches at a training session last fall.
Training

Prayer Needed:

  • For our students who are studying in the church planting training program, especially that they would be able to put into ministry practice the things that they are learning at this training event.
  • For a 5-man building team preparing to come from Arizona at the end of June. Their safety, success and spiritual impact are of utmost concern.
  • Construction at the church on the shelter is happening at a rapid pace, but how long will the funds hold out? Pray for resources and personnel needed to build the ministry and the physical construction of the church on the shelter.
  • For successful resolution of all building documents for the church on the shelter enabling us to finish construction and move a church planter and his family on-site.
  • For wisdom to be able to hold together a fragile partnership with the largest Evangelical organization in eastern Ukraine.
Praise Offered:
  • For a hard working group of Christian Ukrainian men who sacrificed three days time to help us accomplish a major hurdle in the second floor construction.
  • For several successful relationship building ventures.
  • For working out an agreeable time and venue for the next training event.
  • Charity is rejoicing to have been given a spot at the dorm of her choice at her University for the next year.
Two TurkeysWe have been busy with many things, including butchering two turkeys which were given to me by a friend & church planter who lives in a small village a couple hours away from us. "Do you think we should butcher them here?" I asked.  "They'll keep better in the car if you take them home alive," he replied.  I couldn't argue with his logic, but still... butchering a bird this size is a lot of strenuous work. Beth now has a full freezer and I have a few muscles which previously laid dormant.

That's all for this issue. We thank you for praying. There is so much we couldn't do without your prayers.

Sincerely,
