Greetings!
After our daughter's graduation, we returned to Donetsk to face a plethora of problems that need to be solved. A gas meter needs to be installed (sounds easy... doesn't it). Electricity and water supply have both been unstable and the car has to be registered. These are all things that sound so easy in an American democratic free market society. Here in Ukraine... it's another story. Still, not having these common utilities causes us to be thankful for them all the more when they are plentiful. We're also thankful for a generator that let's me run both the refrigerator and this computer at the same time.
Here are the things we seek prayer/praise for this month:
- The first phase of the church on the shelter is being built now. We are hoping for an abundance of good building weather and human resources. Click on the pic on the right below.
- The church plant group (upper banner right side) has begun to meet on Sundays at 7a.m. for a time of morning worship at the bus stop in front of the church on the shelter property. We hope to continue this each Sunday while the weather is warm enough.
- Slavic, the husband of a woman in our new church group, is being treated for what appears to be a benign tumor that is causing discomfort and blockage. Pray for healing, but more than anything, pray for true repentance.
- Our daughter, Charity, graduated from Black Forest Academy. Soon Beth and Charity will be traveling to the states. In the midst of their preparations for university, Charity will have her wisdom teeth removed and Beth will be caring for her mom who is having a knee replaced. Meanwhile, I will be carrying on the ministry and attempting to keep the house mostly clean without Beth for about a month (my mantra, "With God all things are possible!").
- We are grateful that our vehicle performed well during the trek to Germany and back. She had to carry us over the longest stretch of the worst roads Beth and I have ever traveled on.
- Lastly for this month, please pray that I would have the skills that will help me get all the problems solved that were mentioned in the first paragraph above, while balancing the demands of ministry, construction, leadership and family.
For your perusal, we have made several updates to the web site. So click on the pics below and visit yodis.org to see pictures and stories about Ukraine, the Yodis family and church planting in eastern Ukraine. We hope you have a great summer. Please stay in touch.
Gratefully,
Eric & Beth
