News of the Shelter

Wow! Much has happened to praise God for this month. Here is a list:
- Our Ukrainian Architect finished adapting the building plans we received from DPA Architectural Group (CO). They needed to be put in a format that local authorities are accustomed to. Both Architects who worked on this project donated their time and material.
- Help has been enlisted for documentation processing and construction of the foundation.
- On June 21st, the youth group (pictured at top) from our partnering church, Novaya Zhizn' (New Life Church), came to Donetsk on a Subbotnik (workday) to help clean up the territory of the shelter. Pictures are available on-line at the Church on the Shelter link at Yodis.org.
Twenty people participated in the workday and were a great testimony. The neighborhood was impressed by the sounds of people laughing and working, along with gas-powered tools. "Like ants they worked" and made the place look so much better - a testimony that we care about the people in our neighborhood. - This very day, I received word from WorldVenture of a significant gift from a long time supporting church. I haven't even had time to thank the church officially, but we are grateful beyond measure and encouraged to know that God will use His people to provide for His ministry.
With all these great things happening, there is also much to pray about. For example:
- Pray for wisdom and for a smooth processing of further documents so that the foundation can already be poured.
- The church planter from our partnering church and his family will be moving to Donetsk as soon as we can find temporary housing in the area. Pray for the right house for this wonderful family and for a smooth transition to the big city.
- Continue to pray for the outreach and follow-up.
- A group of three from the church planting team will be going to Kiev tomorrow (July 2) to participate in a training event to learn about and how to use the evangelistic home Bible study, Alpha Course. Pray for safety in travel (Eric is driving) and a blessed time of learning.
- Continue to pray for the provision of finances from both local and foreign donors.

Charity Goes To Camp
Charity will be going to camp on July 20, but this time she'll be the counselor not the camper. One of our early church planters, Nicolai Nicolaevich, recruited Charity during her spring break. Pray for Charity during that week for wisdom to be a great spiritual influence on the Jr. High age girls in her group.

Nicolai Goes To America
Yes, this is the same Nicolai (shown on left) that is supposed to be directing the camp that Charity is working in this summer. For two months this summer, Nicolai will be helping a Russian church in Sacramento train their camp personel and direct their summer camp.
Taking his place as camp director will be Roma, another one of the church planters from our project. Also, Eric will be assisting Roma (shown on right) as his purchasing agent and gopher for a good portion of the camp and a few days before.
So this month, you can pray for the camp outreaches. Pray for Nicolai on his short-term mission trip to Sacramento and for Roma and Eric in eastern Ukraine.

That wraps it up. We'll continue to keep you informed and hope you will do the same. Drop us an occasional line or maybe just reply to this note and let us know what's new. I look forward to hearing from you. Gratefully, Eric for Beth and Charity also.
