Tip from the Experts... How to Avoid the "Bait
and Switch"
Have you seen the advertisements that promote ridiculously low rates for carpet cleaning? Would you be surprised to discover that these apparently low priced companies actually charge many times more than a certified professional carpet cleaning firm?
Here's how it works: They "bait" you with an extremely low price. However, if you read the fine print, you will see statements like these:
"We recommend our deep scrub method for heavily soiled carpets (heavily soiled is determined by the technician and how gullible the customer is), "Stainmaster and Berber extra".
Consumer: "O.K., exactly how much is this going to cost me?
Unscrupulous Cleaner: "Well, the $34.95 is just for hot water. Since you have spots, we will need to use chemicals, so it will be more. We recommend our deep scrub method."
Of course that is more money! Please keep in mind that professional cleaning should NOT be cheap! But, companies should not "bait" you with a low price. They should be up front and honest about their pricing.
Every company is different, but a professional company will let you know what is included in their pricing and how they figure the pricing.
