Do any of you know artists? Artists from anywhere, not necessarily Fort Smith. We are looking for awesome art work to auction and sell at our auction. If you have any ideas for us, please contact the artists or give us their names!

An exciting "Thank you!" to those of you who have already signed up to sell or auction artwork at the Art Auction!  It has been fun learning about your artistic abilities!  We have both students and parents now signed up to sell and/or auction off art work to benefit our school!

We would love to have you or your children participate, as well, by donating any artwork you have created for both the silent and live auctions auctions.

Artwork may include: canvas artwork, photography, pottery, jewelry, sculpture, mixed media, or other creative work falling into the "art" category .

You may also request an area to sell your artwork!  You take home 80% of the proceeds, and the school receives 20%!

4th Grade Visit to Secondary Campus!

4th Grade Chapel Visit
The Union 4th graders visited their future "home" at the secondary campus on Monday, February 6th!  They were greeted with cheers by our senior high cheerleading squad, along with warm welcomes by our secondary principal, Mrs. Andie Plymale, our 5th & 6th grade Dean, Mrs. Cedra Flake, and several members of our faculty and administrative staff.  The students took guided tours of our secondary campus facilities and visited the classrooms of many of their future teachers.  They were all very excited about graduating to the secondary campus, and several students stated that they already feel like 5th graders!

Nurse Beasley, along with Drs. Scott and Betty Jo Clark, will be conducting scoliosis screenings on Friday, February 17 @ 9:00 for all 6th grade girls only and 8th grade boys and girls.  Screenings will only take a total of 30-45 minutes, so the students will miss very minimal class time.  All screenings are confidential and deficiencies will be mailed home.  If you're child isn't in one of the grades to be screened, and you would like them to be screened, please email Mrs. Beasley at stephanie.beasley@unioneagles.org.

Student Illness Policy

from the desk of Mrs. Chavis...

Say Go College week is February 13th-19th.  Watch for more information during the week. You can get a head start by going to www.saygocollege.com to learn about college attendance, scholarship, financial aid and acquiring a pin number for the FAFSA.  This week culminates in College Goal Sunday on February 19th when students and parents may go to UAFS and get assistance completing the FAFSA.  This is a great opportunity for you!

Advanced Placement students have received a Student/Parent Bulletin about the upcoming AP exams in May.  Information on security, dates, and fees are included.  In order to receive weighted credit for the AP class, the student must take the exam.  In most institutions, a score of 3 will award college credit.  However, the student should check with their institution to see if there are any other criteria.  The fee each exam is $87.  This fee is due to Mrs. Chavis by March 5th.  Make checks payable to Union Christian Academy and on the memo line name the test(s).  These funds go directly to CollegeBoard for payment for the tests and scoring.
