November 11 is the ACT deadline for the December test.
Seniors who are interested in the Public Health Field should apply for the $500 scholarship available. Criteria are plans to enroll in a field of public health, 2.5 GPA, and financial need. Check in the Counseling Center for applications. The deadline is March 16, 2012.
Two thousand dollars scholarships are offered by the American Legion to children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren of American Legionnaires of two or more year's membership. Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom Era are exempt from the two year requirement. More information is available in the Counseling Center. Application and documentation are due on or before March 15, 2012.

University of Arkansas Fayetteville priority deadline for scholarships is November 15, Tuesday. The final deadline is February 1, 2012. You can apply online at apply.uark.edu and check that you are interested in applying for scholarships. There is a self-reported GPA and ACT score expected by December.
The Rotary Four Way Speech Contest has been announced. The deadline is December 14, 2011. Contestants can be from grades 9 through 12. The topic is "What the Rotary Four Way Test Means to Me." Male students are reminded that you are to register with the Selective Service within 30 days of your 18th birthday. Registering keeps you eligible for college loans, government jobs, and possibly, driver's license renewal.
The National Academy of Engineering's EngineerGirl! Website's 12 Essay Contest is open. Students are asked to write about the role of engineering in providing safe and nutritious food.
