Senior Mission Trip to Haiti

March 11-18, 2012

Our next payment of $569 is due November 15th.  Several of the 28 seniors who have given the $275 deposit are short of this next payment.  We are praying and trusting the God of all resources, and we continue to ask our Union family for your prayers and possible financial support as well.

 If you, or anyone you know, would like to contribute to our trip, please go online to joshuaexpeditions.org, go to the home page, then go to make a payment, give our Expedition number (M126), and then you will see a list of those seniors signed-up to go on the trip.  Click on to the student you wish to support and then make your payment.  You can either do this through an automatic payment (at that time), or you may send the money through the mail (their address is also on this website).

If you would like to make a "lump sum" donation (allowing us to share your donation with students who are having more difficulty raising their support) you may send a check to Union Christian Academy Seniors, c/o Mrs. Sagely

"God has blessed us with some very artistic students!  I wish to congratulate Dylan Curtis and Cracia Cobos for receiving Honorable Mention awards for their artwork for the Fort Smith Parks and Recreation Arbor Day Poster Contest!  Their artwork will be displayed in the BII Building on the UAFS campus this Friday.  Thank you for your hard work and for sharing God through your art."

TESTING Information...

Due to extreme weather on the east coast the ACT deadline for the December test has been extended to November 11.  If you have not signed up, go to www.actstudent.org.

Eighth grade students and their parents are encouraged to use this weekend as an opportunity to get a heads up on the EXPLORE test which will be administered on Tuesday, November 8, at 8 am in the chapel.  Go towww.explorestudent.org to see practice tests. There are additional practice questions which are similar, but a little more difficult at www.planstudent.org.  The fee is $10.00 and several students have not paid.  Make checks to Union Christian Academy and in the memo put the student name and EXPLORE test.

Sophomore students took the PLAN test on November 3.  The fee was $13.00.  Several students still owe this.  Make checks to Union Christian Academy and in the memo put the student name and PLAN test.

===========================================

Sophomores who are interested in developing their leadership skill should see Mrs. Chavis about the HOBY Youth Leadership Program. Our school may make recommendations. The School deadline is Nov 17. This is a great opportunity for students.
