Greetings!

Two great wine dinners &
two great wine tastings!
   1) with Tenuta Sant'Antonio's

At the very thought of autumn, its crisp evenings, and colorful leaves, we begin daydreaming about gorgeously enveloping reds, their bold fruit, and mysteriously spicy bouquets.  It couldn't be more serendipitous that this week, when autumn is so very much in the air, we have a guest from Valpolicella!  Armando Castagnedi from Tenuta Sant' Antonio is joining us for our free tasting this Saturday, and he'll be showcasing a few of his phenomenal wines.  So, before you get too carried away with your Halloween decorating, swing by and taste some great wine!

And join us tonight (Thursday, October 11th) at L'Uva as Armando hosts a wine dinner featuring the wines that he and his brothers produce in the beautiful province of Verona.

To spread the word, and raise more money for research, we're gonna sell a ton of pink wine this October!  Rosé never really goes "out of season" but it's time once again to make room for our autumn favorites and holiday selections.  Throughout the month of October, all rosé (both from the Garden and beyond) is a full 20% off.  As always, a portion of every rosé sale is contributed directly to the fight against breast cancer.  With your rosé-lovin' help we've raised over $12,000 so far!

Tasty Tuesday!
"The Black Wine"

This Tuesday, October 16th, we present our mid-week FREE wine tasting.   Every Tuesday is tasty! From 5:00 - 7:00, we host this bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day!

Five hundred years ago, it was revered by the British as "the black wine" while lauded as "Kagor" in Kiev and beyond by the Russian Orthodoxy.  Today, it exists more in the shadows while its ancient grape, Malbec, grows more famous by the minute.  Southwestern France's Cahors is a region with a rich history.  This Tuesday, we'll taste three very distinct reds, and take a trip down memory lane while looking to the future with Cahors.  Also, find out from Mic (who learned the hard way) exactly why Cahors, smart cars, and wild boars simply don't mix...
And don't forget:
Tasty Tuesday 20%
Mixed Case Discount!
After you taste, put together 12 bottles from our Tasty Tuesday lineup, and we'll take an entire 20% off!

Tenuta Sant'Antonio Tasting
This Saturday, we welcome a special guest behind our tasting bar. Armando Castagnedi of Valpolicella's Tenuta Sant'Antonio is visiting the triangle, presenting his family's wines at L'Uva for a Veronese-styled wine dinner (see details above) and joining us here at W.A. to showcase a few of our newest arrivals from his estate.  We'll begin with an exotically perfumed daily white and a closer look at Valpolicella's signature Corvina grape (with the help of one of the most succulent red values that we've recently brought in).  Next, we'll unveil the tenuta's Ripasso, an elegantly powerful representative of one of Valpolicella's most famous specialties.  The grand finale is an Amarone, one of the true kings of Italian wine!
