Greetings!
Sherry:
It's Not YourGranny's Tipple!
Sherry, a collection of some of the wine world's most distinctive and unique styles and flavors, has been in the shadows for too long, and we're not going to take it any more. That's right, we've joined the war that's being waged against Sherry-phobia, and we're in it for the duration. This Saturday, we're featuring six Sherries at our free weekly tasting, and over the course of the next week, four Sherries will be available continuously for sampling back at the Enomatic. So, come in and discover just how much you love Sherry!

~~~~ This Saturday, rise and shine with Rise & wine!
In the great tradition of the Only Burger debut, Pork & Pinot, and other store-packing events of our past, this Saturday we welcome Chef Tom Ferguson (Durham Catering Company, co-creator of Only Burger), and he'll be giving out biscuit and doughnut samples from his soon to open restaurant Rise. During our 12-3 wine tasting, Tom and his staff will be featuring samples of three types of doughnuts and two different biscuits (one vegetarian)! ~~~~ Wine dinner at Guglhupf Sparkling Wines & Local Farms Wednesday, August 22nd Join us for another fantastic evening at Guglhupf Café where we'll be pouring several sparkling wines, including Cava, Txakoli, Crémant, Lambrusco & Moscato from artisan farm wineries. Chef Dave Alworth will be working closely with and featuring local farms for produce and meat in an inspired menu that never fails to impress us. Call soon, as these dinners sell out very quickly. To celebrate Mateo's opening last night at Durham's Five Points, we have four sherries on the Enomatic. Come in anytime throughout the next week to taste and learn about these signature wines that are classically served with tapas. Grab our fun and informative zine/guide to sherry and escape your fear of these beautiful but misunderstood fortified wines.
Be sure to visit Mateo and enjoy Manager Michael Maller's extensive sherry selection and Chef Matt Kelly's stellar small plates. In the hands of these two, we have no doubt that this restaurant will be one of Durham's (and North Carolina's) finest.
Tasty Tuesday
"Sprechen sie Deutsch?"
This Tuesday, August 14th, we present our weekly "Tasty Tuesday" FREE wine tasting. Every Tuesday is tasty! From 5:00 until 6:30, we host this FREE bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day.
This week, we're posing a simple question: "Do you speak the language of Austrian and German wine?" You should. After all, it's a universal one whose syntax involves balance, freshness, and minerality. Join us this Tuesday, and we'll enhance your vocabulary with three new arrivals. From Austria, we have a red never before available in Durham and the latest vintage of a rosé that we've adored for years. From Germany, we'll be sampling a new dry Riesling whose sexy complexity, simply put, knocks our lights out. "TOUCH MY MONKEY!"
Join us and taste for yourself the diversity and deliciousness of Sherry in all of its many shapes, sizes, and styles. It's practically a new world just waiting to be discovered!
