- Saturday's Tasting: Taste Fabulous French Wine with Local Importer, Thomas Meunier

top Greetings!

We won!!
Thank you very much for voting us the Best in Durham 2012, and the Best of the Triangle 2012!
Bests of 2012      The polls are closed, and the votes have been tallied.  You've done it again, darn you.  You've voted Wine Authorities the Best Wine Store of the Triangle in the Independent Weekly for the fourth time in four years, and you've also voted us the Best Wine Store in Durham in Durham Magazine on the first appearance of that category.  We can't thank you enough, but we'll try.
We are so honored and humbled by our customers' enjoyment of this place, our staff, and our quirkiness.  We truly love what we do, and we love our customers!  Thanks for voting for the little guy.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Now we're off to Acupulco to spend all of our winnings!  See you suckers later!!  {maniacal laughter} Ahh, ha, ha, Ha!  What?  No cash prize?  Just a little glory and a plaque?  Okay, we'll take that.

Real Customer Comment:
"I am blown away!  I'm visiting friends and all they talked about was how great your store is.  Coming from California, in the wine country, I didn't know what to expect.  This is way better than anything in the Central Coast!  Truly great."

Tasty Tuesday
MEGA MIX!
Feat. Mix-Master Mic
Tie Dye
This Tuesday, June 12th, we present our weekly "Tasty Tuesday" FREE wine tasting.  Every Tuesday is tasty!  From 5:00 until 6:30, we host this FREE bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day.
This week, we're mixing things up a bit with a theme dedicated to the ancient craft of blending different varietals together in pursuit of harmony, complexity, and balance.
A trio of grapes with a particularly strong affinity for each other in Mediterranean France and Northern Spain will once again demonstrate their synergistic cooperation (with a little help from us back at the tasting bar), so join Mix Master Mic for a wine-blending and mind-bending experiment much tastier than any you might remember from high school chemistry class!
Last chance to sign up for tonight's class!
Vine to Wine
Our final class before Summer break!
Classroom
Tonight, June 7th, we present our in-depth introductory wine class.  7:33 - 10:00pm

An evening of wine chronicling a vine's bud break in the spring to each of its grapes being lovingly squeezed into the bottles that we hold so dear.  We cover how vines grow, how wine is made, how to read a label, how to buy wine, how to store wine, how to drink, er, taste wine... and we'll debunk many wine myths throughout this short two+ hour class.
(includes tasting wines, video presentation, and handouts)

Thomas Meunier
Thomas Meunier, an importer of estate-tastic French wines based right here in the Triangle, will be joining us this week behind our Cellar Door tasting bar. He'll not only be pouring samples of some of our very favorite selections from his outstanding portfolio, he'll give you the low down on how he chooses the producers he works with and why respect for nature and harmony in the vineyards are among his top priorities.
