Saturday & Tuesday Tastings:
"Outside the d'Or?"
Great values from the southern & northern extremes of Burgundy!
In This Issue:
- Tasty Tuesday: Northern Burgundy - Chablis & Chitry
- Saturday's Tasting: Southern Burgundy - Beaujolais & the Mâconnais
- What's on the Enomatic?

top Greetings!

A week of Burgundy:
Focusing on great values from the region's
Northern and Southern extremes!
North & South Burgundy
Many of Burgundy's most famous regions exist along the gentle slopes of the Cote d'Or.  The exalted whites of Montrachet and Meursault as well as the exceptional reds of Vosne-Romanée and Gevrey-Chambertin have earned imposing and tantalizing reputations, but wonderful Burgundy doesn't have to break the bank!
Over the course of the next week, we'll be looking at the region's southernmost and northernmost edges for some of Burgundy's best values (and some exciting rarities).  Join us at our free tasting this Saturday and again on the following Tuesday to find out what exactly does lie just outside the d'Or...
What are you doing tonight?
New Zealand Wine Social:
A special tasting event Tonight!
We're kicking off the arrival of several small New Zealand wineries to the US with a special mini-class on the wines of New Zealand including a tasting of eight of their selections.  Join us for a 30 minute class giving you a solid foundation on Kiwi wine, followed by an hour of tasting and casual chit chat.
Importer and friend-of-the-store Eric Platt will be on hand to give us first hand accounts of four of the five wineries that have joined up to form Pacific Prime Wines, an importer to promote and sell their wines in the US.  It's a great opportunity to be among the first in the US to taste some of these wines!
Thursday, April 19th, 7:03pm - 8:33pm
$20 per person
(FREE for each individual who purchases 6 or more bottles from the class that evening.  Your refund of $20 will take place upon checkout.)

   newshirt2Just arrived!  -  $15.99 each
Our new t-shirts have arrived and they're the stylish and comfy way to say you don't drink junk!  You prefer artisan wines from the farmers who work the land themselves.  And maybe you even like our little wine shop too.  ; )
Our shirts are made with cotton grown in North Carolina and the shirt itself is made in North Carolina, then printed by our friends at T.S. Designs in Burlington, NC.  Sooo soft and pre-shrunk, you have to touch one of these with your own hands.
Available in "Brick" (a gentle red) or "Cement" (dark gray) with off-white images.
Also back in stock are our Durham - "Crunchy on the Outside..." shirts (available this time in Blue or Red.)

"After getting used to you guys, it's really depressing walking into [wine shop's name censored]."

Tasty Tuesday
 Northern Burgundy:
Chablis & Chitry
Chablis & Chitry
This Tuesday, April 24th, we present our weekly "Tasty Tuesday" FREE wine tasting.  Every Tuesday is tasty!  From 5:00 until 6:30, we host this FREE bonus tasting of three wines to get you through the early week and land you safely on hump day.
Closer geographically to Champagne than to the collection of regions to the south which comprise the remainder of Burgundy, Chablis and Chitry produce focused wines with famously elegant minerality.  Three varietals are represented from these regions this week - Chardonnay from Chablis, an Aligoté (the other white Burgundy™) and a Pinot Noir from Chitry.

This Saturday from 12 to 3 PM
"try before you buy" at
our FREE tasting

This week, join us for a tasting dedicated to the oft-overlooked wines of the southern Burgundian regions of the Mâconnais and Beaujolais (perhaps the most misunderstood region of France?).  We'll show you a great value alternative to Pouilly-Fuissé, a classically styled Pinot Noir, a rare glimpse of white Beaujolais (energetic unoaked Chardonnay) and one of the region's reds with the kind of character that can immediately wash away any unspectacular memories you might have of mediocre Beaujolais Nouveau.
