Dear fredkid Families:
It's that time of year again. And for many... "It's the most wonderful time of the year". I can't really say that myself. I have loved having both my children home all summer, we have had so much fun together. I will be a little sad when my son goes off to grade 1 and my daughter to preschool. With school comes routine, which is good. Kids can get back to music lessons, sports and other social activities. If you are looking for a music program for your preschooler or school-aged child you might want to check our Music for Young Children and see what they have to offer. Go-Go Gymnastics has fantastic fall programs coming up and a great afterschool program called Go-Go Gymrichment. If you are looking for something active and educational you may want to look further. Looking for a way to earn some extra cash from home? Internet CEO Moms may be what you are looking for. fredkid.com is starting something new in the month of September. "fredkid Monthly Family Movie Day". Every month a new movie will be featured. A great way to enjoy a family movie with your kids without spending a lot of money. Our first movie to be featured is "Cars 2". Hope to see you all there on Saturday September 17! Also on September 17, The Fredericton Area Moms of Multiples are having their semi-annual Fall/Winter Clothing Sale. A great place to shop for your little ones without spending a lot! Has your child been diagnosed with childhood apraxia of speech? Are you feeling overwhelmed with what to do, what to expect? Come and join our parent support group. We will meet for regular face to face meetings in Fredericton and use online tools to share and support each other. It can be comforting and empowering to know that you are not alone and that you can both give and receive help. FPCA Goals: - to meet for face-to-face meetings on a regular basis
- to provide support, sharing and networking opportunities amongst parents of children with CAS
- to raise awareness of apraxia in our communities and school systems
FPCA Activities include: - sharing feelings and experiences
- exchange of information both in person and online via shared group website
- sharing information resources about CAS
- discussions on specific topics (i.e. therapies, school transitions, social skills etc.)
- building a resource list and virtual library of CAS resources
- resource lending amongst members
- family activities
