Scholarship applications are now
available at
FDCC. The Co-op Board of Directors have established 3 $750.00
scholarships to give annually to assist members, their spouses or
children to
pursue a post secondary course of study or skill development. Candidates
for the awards will be assessed on Academic Achievement, Financial Need
and
Community Involvement. Forms can be picked up at the Service Desk.
Deadline for applications is close of store July 4th.
FDCC Board of Directors also offers the
Sid
Pobihushchy Memorial Scholarship awarded every 2 years for a term of 2
years
valued at $1,000.00 per year. To be eligible for this scholarship
applicants
must be a member or a dependent of a member of FDCC and meet one of the
following criteria:
1. Must be enrolled in a co-op
movement course at a recognized University, or
2. Must be enrolled in a
community or sustainable development course at a recognized University,
or
3.Must be a career employee
furthering his/her education for future development in his/her
respective Co-op
or Credit Union.

July
4th.
The Member Relations Committee of the
FDCC Board of
Directors has awarded $400.00 gift cards to the Fredericton Food Bank
and
Fredericton Branch of Meals on Wheels as the recent recipients of Co-op
Cash. The Fredericton Branch of the Parkinson's Society will be the
beneficiary of Coop Cash donations for the next 6 months. Please donate
your
Co-op Cash in the receptacles found at both Gas Bars. These non-profit
organizations appreciate your generosity!
Be sure to be at your Co-op on June 19
for "Green
Up" Day. Its time for a change - share plants and ideas a the FDCC
Perennial
Swap. Plants can be dropped of from 9-10 am on Saturday with the swap
beginning at 10 am. Members dropping off plants will be able to pick up
the same
number of plants once the swap begins. Tree seedlings will be given away
as well
as a planting guide. There will be draws for great green prizes all
morning.
