Can you believe it? Christmas will be here in less than a month! Already our community is busy with holiday activities, events, shopping and visits to Santa.

During this time of year, many wonder how they can give back? In this issue we have highlighted some groups that let Families Help Other Families. Also, this month, we have ideas for what to do with Kids Over the Holidays.

We have included our usual Event Listing, that is chalked full of holiday fun! As an extra bonus, I have included a special section on Where to Visit Santa.

We have started a brand New Holiday Contest, you do not want to miss. It has a really great prize!

Continue to log on to sjkid daily,  to view classified ads, participate in our forum,  and find out what is going on, in our events calendar, there is always something new you won't want to miss!

I just wanted to take the time to wish you and your Family a Merry Christmas from myself and the sjkid team. We hope the holidays are magical for you and your whole family.

Sincerely,
Catherine Derry, Site Administrator for sjkid

FamilyFamilies Helping Families
The holiday season is a time for joy and sharing. It is a great time to contribute, whatever we can, to those who are struggling financially. Whether you make a big contribution or a small, it all helps and matters. Here is a small list of groups that need donations this Christmas:

Christmas Daddies helps less fortunate children in the Maritime Provinces. There annual broadcast will be on CTV (channel 8) on December 6th, 11am-6pm.

Coats for Kids will take your gently used coats, hats, scarves and mitts to distribute to those in need. Drop off at McAllister Place or New City Dry Cleaners on Waterloo St.

Crescent Valley Community Center Socks and Underwear Drive needs donations of new socks and underwear for kids between the ages of 2-12. These are distributed to kids at an Annual Christmas Party.

Main Street Baptist Church Shopping Carts provides groceries and gifts for North End families in need,

West Branch Library Knit for Kids collects knitted items and they are distributed by Hestia House and Romero House.

If your family is in need of donation. Please contact one of these groups.
For a larger listing of groups see the Families Helping Families Section.
