FAMILY OF THE MONTH
The Kenney Family
Anne Marie, Skip, Adriana, Jay and Chris
What an honor to be chosen as Family of the Month! Our family has been involved with Special Olympics since 1992 when Adriana was first old enough. She went to State Games in Tallahassee for Track and Field at age 10 when Morning Star had their own team. Chris began Swimming in 1997. Special Olympics has always played a very important part of our lives not only just so that Adriana and Chris could enjoy sports to their fullest capability but also as parents, Skip and I have enjoyed the friendships and community we have with the other athletes and their families. Skip has been a unified partner for Golf both with Chris and even during a year in which Chris' health prevented him from participating. As a teen Jeremiah became involved as a Coach and volunteer, he carried this on into his college years away in Ohio becoming a Greeter and Volunteer for North East Ohio Special Olympics and since his graduation and return home he continues the tradition working here with Chris in Power Lifting and assisting our beloved Nin coaching Adriana's cheer team, the awesome 'Sparklers'. All the wonderful events and community we share is due to the commitment and dedication of so, so many such as Nin, Marie, Kevin, Mindy and all the other Coaches. It is they who are the foundation from where the love, spirit and strength of this wonderful group we are blessed to be a part of in Seminole County Special Olympics is built upon. So many people we know in SCSO understand the bond and love of one another that we as this unique group shares. We just could not imagine our lives without everyone in SCSO. Thank you for thinking of our family. Skip, Anne-Marie, Adriana, Jay and Chris Kenney |
