In our last Tip of the Week, we made an error stating the feature of QuickPreview was available in the May release. It is actually coming out in the October release.. so you have something really great to look forward to. Keep the tip handy so you can test it out with your next upgrade.
When I'm working with our prospects or customers I like to show off the features that make life a little easier for both the front office and back office users. Since we have so many, it's not always easy to show every single one! This week's tip will allow the front office to show a little love to the back office by setting up transaction pay and bill types prior to time entry.
There are a couple ways to accomplish this. First you can add this at anytime to the Order after it's been created. Go to Order, Edit Order and then use the drop down to select the transaction you would like to add to the Order.

The second way is to add the transaction on every new Order you create. Your default settings allow you to show Regular Time and Overtime in the Order. What if you would like to add Mileage (with the pay and bill rates)? By adding the transaction at the Order level, you can create the pay and bill rate right there. When it's time to enter hours, the back office doesn't need to fill in anything but the unit amount (in this case how many miles).
You will need to have Admin Tools access (or ask someone who does). In Config Choice go to the Choice Property Tab and then Order_TempType. You will now choose what branch(es) you would like the type of transaction to show up on. You can use the Apply Changes to All Branches if you wish to have the transaction type show up on all orders for every branch. Next you will need to type in what transaction type you want to show (in our example we used Mileage).

Now when you go back to create an order for the branch(es) that you chose, the transaction type will appear under the Order Rates when creating a new order.

Now when the back office starts to enter time, they will already have the pay/bill rates for the specified transaction!

Depending on your individual situation, choose the solution that will work best for you!
We love to hear how you are using the system. Feel free to drop us a line and tell us some of your tips.
