This week's tip is coming to you from Annalee, one of the members of our training team.

Are you utilizing your Favorites Groups the way you could be?  "Favorites" is a great tool to easily group candidates with specific skill sets, education, by address, and much more.  It is not only great for categorizing record types; it is also a great resource to use when sending mass mails or trying to quickly and efficiently fill orders for your customers.

But wait, did you know or remember that you can create subcategories within your Favorites Groups to further narrow your candidate list for orders?  For example, typically your customers require a specific skill set for all orders.  And many of you know that customers place very similar repeat orders, but possibly for different states/ multiple jobsites.  Wouldn't it be helpful if you could group all those candidates by skills, then state, then city?  Utilizing your Favorites Groups by adding a sub group, or "Child" as we call it here at Aviont.

Set up a Favorites Group for all employees that match your customer's skills criteria.  Once you have that "Favorites Group" set up and are in that "Favorite Group" record, you have the ability to use your Actions Menu to "Add Child".  The system will create a sub group within that larger Favorites Group to allow you to further categorize candidates by another criterion.  When adding a "Child", the system opens another Favorites Group wizard to allow you to name your sub group category, what type of sub group it is, and what the "Parent" Favorite group is.  Just like when you create a Favorite Group, you also have the ability to share this sub group with other users.  After you have entered this information, Click Next and you will have the ability to add candidates.  If you wanted to move or copy candidates from your original "Parent" Favorites Group you would simply click Finish, double click on the "Parent" group in your "Favorites Tree", and use your "Actions" menu or "Shortcut Button" to "Move/ Copy Favorite Items".   You can then choose which Group you would like to "Move/ Copy" from and select candidates.

This is just one example of how you can create "Children" within your "Favorites Group" to categorize your records to save time and be more efficient in your day to day process.  There is no limit to the amount of "Children" your groups can have.  Once again, keep in mind, this is just one example of utilizing "Add Child" in "Favorites", you can use this same functionality for all other "Types" of "Favorites Groups" including Agency, Assignment, Contact, Customer, Order_Temp, and User groups.
