SAVE THE DATE! "The End Users Speak" Technology Exploration Forum
The Ethernet Alliance will host its next Technology Exploration Forum (TEF), The End User Speaks, to be held Thursday, February 16, 2012. This Forum  will give the end-user community the opportunity to voice their needs for Ethernet in their network architectures & applications.  These opinions will fuel the TEF Logodiscussions of the day as the Ethernet industry gathers to hold a lively discussion regarding the future direction & evolution of Ethernet.

Potential areas of discussion include:

  • Ethernet in Future Data Centers
  • Ethernet and the Heart of the Internet
  • The Role of Power in Networks
  • The impact of "Content" on Server Connectivity or "Broadcast's Bandwidth Demands"
  • The IEEE and Ethernet's Future
  • And  more
The TEF will bring together experts in the Ethernet industry to discuss and explore these areas.  In addition to the Ethernet Alliance's own broad membership, which includes end users, system and component vendors, this event will also be open to non-Ethernet Alliance members.  Together, participants will provide a broad set of backgrounds to enable lively discussion.

If you are interested in sponsoring this event, please contact [email protected] for more information.

We look forward to seeing you there!

If you're in Seattle, please stop by our booth on the 6th floor, #5101and check out our latest Ethernet technologies such as Internet Wide Area RDMA Protocol (iWARP), RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCE), 40 Gigabit Ethernet, and 10GBASE-T.
ETHERNET TECHNOLOGY SUMMIT
Ethernet Technology Summit
February 21-23, 2012
Doubletree by Hilton
San Jose, CA

The Ethernet Technology Summit focuses on the use of Ethernet throughout the networking space. This includes the emergence of 10-Gigabit Ethernet as a key LAN technology on the desktop and in data centers. It also covers the ongoing standardization effort for 40-Gigabit and 100-Gigabit Ethernet. It also includes the use of Ethernet as a carrier backbone and transport method, as well as in wireless, industrial, embedded, and storage applications. To meet carrier needs, the Ethernet ecosystem must include quality-of-service guarantees, management tools (so-called operations, administration, and management or OAM), performance analysis, high availability, scalability, security, and service-level agreements. Other topics of interest include low power systems, power-over-Ethernet, Ethernet as a home networking technology, backplane Ethernet, and embedded Ethernet.

Ethernet Alliance members are being offered discounted passes if they would like to attend this event. To obtain the discount code, please email [email protected].
